What are people using to take the smartcap stickers off of the canopy?

I used my finger nail. The sticker came off super easy and then I just used some goo gone for any residue.

Is the cap itself leaking? The pictures you posted appear to show light or a least an open area between the cap itself and your bed rails.

Didn’t fully understand what needed to be done until getting the cap on.

No the cap itself isn’t leaking. There are gaps in the front where the foam is at that I didn’t know existed. Apparently there are plugs you can get from Toyota but exploring other options.

You could put some butyl tape in there. But it also appears that you have some leaking from under the rail at the front of the bed.

Yep, this is what I did as well. The stickers were extremely easy to remove as soon as I got it assembled. Goo gone on a shop towel to clean up any sticky left behind.

Ideally, before putting on the cap, you'd want to seal as much as possible:
    1. Lift up the plastic bed caps and the bar at the front of the bed, clean it all up and put a bead of sealant caulk down to prevent water from creeping under them into the bed.
    2. I filled the gaps at the front corners of the bed with more sealant (a lot of sealant so I couldn't see light anymore. That opening is irregular and not easy to seal.)
    3. I even put butyl tape over the rectangular holes along the metal edge that is exposed when you remove the bed caps. (the holes on the vertical sides of the bed, not the ones the bed caps snap into.)
    4. Put the bed caps and the front bar back on and make sure there is no visible light at those front corners.
    5. Put the Smartcap on.
    6. Enjoy.

Tacoma beds have a lot of entry points for water under all the plastic cladding. I haven't had any leaks since doing all this. My Smartcap is pretty water-tight though I haven't driven in a rainstorm yet. Here it's been just the typical PNW drizzle.

I wonder if some of the leaks folks are reporting from the Smartcap itself may be because the panels were not as tightly fitted and sealed as others. I made sure my panels had less than a 1/16th gap before bolting it all together. Those metal tabs and slots are hard to get positioned tightly without using a rubber mallet and a 2X4 to smack them into a tight fit before bolting it all up.

I would really like to switch out my Leer 100XR for one of these........Being in Northern Canada concerns me that this product isn't built for these conditions, cold , wet , road salt. Having a Leer I'm fully versed in leaks :)

I just removed the lettering. I had the newer "smartcap" design stickers on my EVOa. Just used my fingers to pull off the lettering and a little goo gone to clean it all up.

The older "RSI Smartcap" stickers on the first canopies to come over had the full stickers that went under the locks. I think most people that removed the stickers on these either removed the locks or cut around the locks to pull the stickers off.

Do you have any of the feet and load bars still available?

No the 40 and 60 mm feet are about 2-3 weeks out.

Did that require custom hardware to mount? Been wanting to buy a rack myself but am concerned I'll end up with a $1k paperweight due to incompatible hardware or some other nonsense.

No just get some 8mm or 5/16 square nuts and 3/4" long bolts and a couple flat washers.

I used m8 square weld nuts and bolts. The weld nuts are linked at the bottom of this page. I had to slightly drill out the prinsu feet mounts because the m8 bolts were a tad big. Super easy and i'm loving the set up so far.

Do you know if these feet work in the Thule tracks?
