Clean install. Where did you mount the controller itself?

I used heavy duty mount tape to mount it to a box that's up under the dash to the left of the wheel. It's a fuse or computer. You will see it. When I asked this question in a different thread I was told it's a large flat spot. IMG_20200827_171202.jpg

I tried it there too. Texas heat got the better of it and I had to move it.

Waiting on mine to arrive. Did you pull the lower portion of the dash to get the empty plug out?

Could you tell me exactly where you attached the white ground wire? (Maybe a picture?) I’ve searched for an existing screw into metal behind the kick panel but come up empty. Tks.

Is it the cluster screw with the blue mark or is there another screw that the red arrow is pointing at? I’m a bit thick and don’t want to unscrew the wrong screw

Great. I saw that but didn’t want to disturb it for fear of losing the backing nut. That nut must be tacked on.

    Thank you.

That’s the one I used and didn’t have a problem with it. Whether tacked on or whatever, the screw threads into the truck, without the need to keep track of a nut.

If you’re worried about it, there are some YouTube videos floating around that show the screw.

Attached the Liberty Tow Pro to the top of the kick panel using industrial velcro. I got it from eTrailer along with the plug & play power harness and predrilled switch blank. It took, in total, about 40 mins once I found out where to hook up the ground wire. It functions really well, just as advertised, and looks like it could have been part of the factory towing package.

Pulled my trailer for the first time with my Liberty. Not far, but it automatically went into its learn mode and after a few stops and short distance was finished. Could feel it activating and had a nice smooth activation. Next time, pulling the car.

I pulled with mine a few times now. i seen mine do something I thought was crazy when I plugged it in to come back from camping. The light was flashing red on the dash and started after I put on the right side signal to double check the lights. Turns out there was an issue with the light on the trailer not working, issue with the bulb socket. When I cleaned it out and reinstalled the build the light on the tow pro liberty went back to steady blue.
So it seems that it can detect a bulb is out. I wasn't expecting that.

That’s one of the fault conditions identified in the user manual error codes but I didn’t associate it until you mentioned your experience. I went back and looked at the flashing light codes and sure enough, trailer bulb trouble. This thing is good!

That's funny. I didn't have the manual with me when it happened but my experience told me that's what had to be happening. I agree the thing is better than I thought. Now I'm going to look at the trouble codes to see what else it can figure out for us.
