Agree 1000%; I use the Garratt Carrot as well, and it makes life sooooooooooo much easier. You can't believe how much more easily I localize all those pull tabs and bottle tops!

I plan on hitting a small park after work today and I'll post my finds as well. Been a while since I've hunted "grass/dirt". :crapstorm:

I'll be hunting with the ACE350.

I NEED to go back to this park as far as coins are concerned. I found:
    4x quarters
    1x dime
    2x nickels

This is roughly 1hr 15min hunt. My right-hand fingers were cramping up pretty good.

The soft ground due to the recent rain made retrieving really easy.

Anyways, the ring is definitely junk and some sort of cast metal. Go figure, it was found in a tot-lot. So I didn't have high hopes whatsoever. I forgot what it rang up as too?

Then your typical pop-tops, pull tab, and some sort of foil that I thought was going to be another nickel.

The far right, it took me a good minute, but it's a piece of a combination lock "wheel". That actually rang up like a solid quarter and was about 3in down if I remember right.

Thanks and yeah, not too bad for just over an hour and I didn't even hit 1/20th of the park. All that was found within a fairly small section. I wouldn't say "trash", but just quite a few hits.

I actually had more "contacts", but 99% sure it was trash. Besides, my hand was really cramping up.

But yeah, I left pretty satisfied for the day.

    Dear Ann,

My detecting buddy found a paystreak patch near where we go last weekend and he won’t tell me where it was, and all I got from him was this crappy picture. Should I dump him or is it OK to stalk him to find it?

    Signed,

    Jilted Prospecting Buddy :pout:
