ooo I was considering getting a white LED bar if I ever managed to get a hood scoop. Honestly I like this twist on the raptor lighting just enough that I might consider it. (I already have a forward light bar in the bumper.)

3inch lift, 18ich wheels with Toyo Tires. MBRP dual exhaust, Rough Country side steps and Gator tonneau cover. More to come....
Thank you. I wanted to do something different, wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. I am very happy with the outcome. I am thinking of doing the light bar in bumper for some extra lighting.

I highly recommend the one from cali-raised LED. I'm not gonna say it was super easy to install (because of the location, nothing wrong on cali-raised part). I think I went with the spot pattern rather than the flood or combo cause I plan on getting flood pattern on the roof.

Just want to mention that this is a serious pet peeve of mine. I don't know Ricochet as a company and do not wish them any ill will at at all. But I have noticed that a lot of the smaller companies -- who I really am rooting for to do well! -- don't include install instructions on their Web site or ship products with no instructions. Frankly, it pisses me off. Especially since I don't have great mechanical skills -- someone like me needs the instructions and badly! It really isn't that hard. And, no, telling me to go watch a bunch of Youtube videos done by previous customers is not a valid option.

Don't get me wrong ... I wish these companies well ... but come on ... it is not that hard to create a solid set of instructions and print them out and drop them in a product package that costs several hundred dollars or more ...

    Sorry! I couldn't resist.

    :)

It only took me about 30 minutes to drop it! The plastic caps on the handles pop up, then you pull them out. The hooks on the side just need to be twisted and they come right out.

Idk man apparently it is. I got a roof top tent and the instructions were so bland, pictures not helpful, duplicated instructions. Honestly I read like someone whose first language isn't English was tasked with writing the instructions.
And I know I just recommended a cali-raised product (and I still recommend them) but I got my bed rack from them...no physical instructions with the package (which is fine, I'm down for cutting waste) but the link to the instruction page was dead and when I asked for instructions they sent me the same dead link that is on the product page like they didn't even look at it first.

Just terrible. And how much did you pay for that roof top tent?

I was looking at a roof rack (I won't name the vendor) and politely emailed the company asking them if they could send me instructions. I am in NY and we don't have great shops where I can get help if I get in over my head -- and trust me, I get in over my head. Simple email along the lines of "I would like to order your product but I want to make sure I have the skill set to install it properly ... I think I can do it and your instructions would help give me the confidence I need to place the order." The message I got back was along the lines of ... if you look on YouTube you can search and find people who have installed our roof rack." This was for a $950 roof rack. I am looking elsewhere ... because I need and value actual instructions and also on principle.

They've changed it since I ordered this some time back, but they do still mention it being used for working dogs. I have to laugh because one of the things that they have on their site now is about cold bleachers at a baseball game. I bought the pad (after having one of the Pollok mats for a year or two) to take to football games for cold bleachers. I think I mentioned that in an email to them.
Tony and his crew are great people and put excellent gear together.
Now that she's here, it's getting some more use.

It was around 1400$ I do believe. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the tent and everything about it. Just the instructions seemed like an afterthought for the company

Finally picked up my TRD Sport! Promptly added our tent and rack along with a retrax one xr. Traded the sport suspension for the trdor setup. Rides so much better. 265/70/17 ko2’s coming this week. D921571D-C98E-4385-AE88-1554FAA3D712.jpgDC2A9525-E8AA-4C02-8AFD-D037EB0F042F.jpg

If you need directions on how to screw on skid plates, that’s on you. If the holes don’t line up, that’s a manufacturer defect.

I was not referring to a skid plate but rather things that are more complicated to install like a roof rack, a bumper a roof top tent. But now that you mention it, if I order a skid plate it would be nice to have some instructions, a complete parts list, best practices, etc. Common courtesy when you spend a lot of money ... I personally think it is right to include instructions, product info, etc. But maybe I am old fashioned that way ...

    Carry on ...

Edit: For instance, nice of Toyota to provide them for the OEM skid plate. Sure, you might not need them, but good to have nonetheless.Screenshot_20171013-215603.jpg

I actually looked through the skid plate instructions prior to installing my skid plate. Something I’ve found over the years is engineers don’t always (or often even) design something with the installer/end user in mind. What may seem obvious and make sense can sometimes be the completely wrong way to install something. Instructions are always a plus.

Mods so far on my new 2021:
    • Upgraded suspension to Bilstein 6112s in front (2" lift), and 5100s rear (may do an AAL in rear when I get new tires).
    • Removed the stickers on the bed.
    • Changed the front grill emblem overlay.
    • Added OEM bed lights & auto tailgate lock.
    • Added rodent alarm beneath the hood.
    • Added tonneau cover (for now, may go to soft-topper in future).

exactly how I felt. I spoke to them on the phone a few times before I ordered and they were great, but the missing instructions and little info online really frustrated me quickly. Took about 6 hours to get it all done, and all due to little mistakes that a page of instructions would’ve cleared up.

I emailed them after and they sent me pdf of instructions (too late hah!) and apologized saying someone in shipping messed up..

I wish these companies well, but man was it frustrating hah
