So ended up swapping out the solid bearings with poly bushings with 9/16 sleeve so could use the factory 14mm bolts . Should have just ordered with the poly bushing to begin with .
Also inverted coilovers cause was to close mount on bottom and noticed slight rubbing mark (EDIT) and when had truck on ground was almost touching with weight of truck. Double job lol...

Was the ride too stiff with the solid bearings?

Not really. Wanted poly bushing but when I ordered didnt see it .Read poly bushing should ride little better but only drove 3 miles so not really noticing any difference yet. I just feel better with bushing mount instead of solid mount.

EDIT After driving around more I do notice a difference .Hard to explain but ....
Go with poly bushings for street use .:D

So may I ask where you got the top mounts? I like the 12 point bolt!
I don’t understand why or how the spring was rubbing but that is a pretty beefy looking spring! Maybe just the photo they say the camera adds ten pounds, lol…
And just an FYI the solid Haim joints will start rattling after time! As they are designed for race only applications and will not hold up to the riggers of a daily.

*Edit* I think I just answered my own question, you’re working with a 6 lug. :anonymous:
My apologies not many lower 6 lugs so I presumed it was a 5 lug.

Top mounts from dirt king . Spring not rubbing . Bottom of coilovers wide and about 1/ 16 in away from control arm . With poly bushing movement would rub . Could have grinded control arm a little but nah .
Was using bearing mount not haim joint . Will add pick latter .

You really need to check out the spring rate on Feal coilover's!
I have 500 in/lbs springs on an Access Cab with about 80 lbs of extra weight of a supercharger, And I think the 500 in/lbs springs are to stiff! 4x4’s with heavy all steel bumpers plus winch on the front are running 650 to 700 in/lbs springs. Feal’s have a spring rate of 14k or 798 in/lbs. 1k = 57 lbs.
It’s up to you but I would try to go for a ride in a truck with stiff springs.
BananaMan a really good guy but he purchased the truck with the suspension installed. I know the stock springs & shocks are on the soft side but you be going from one extreme to the other! That’s the reason I recommended doing something like that was in the link. The spring perch on the bottom of the OE spring does want is called coil bind. Google “coil bind”. A shorter spring is a stiffer spring. Sorry just my .02 cents, I’m not an engineer but I know a little about spring rates. You really need to corner weight the truck but I’ve lost my connection to scales. Plus Feal’s are manufacture in China and I know for a fact that products made in China can be some of the best products you can buy just look at the back of your iPhone, but then they can make some real crap too! I rather have coilover’s that can be serviced. Aluminum body shocks need servicing! They will not last the same as a steel body shock. QA1 are very popular with sprint cars because they can be serviced by anyone with the tools. Vikings are the same as QA1’s. Actually the two owners were in business together then split because of differences. Research for yourself. You’re doing a great job so far just keep up the good work. This chunk of aluminum is mounted to the front of my truck now.

    Good luck!
