If I was to find the time to do this myself, any have or know of someone who has the bearing puller from ecgs or something similar that will work? as well as the installer tool? happy to toss some bucks towards a rental fee as well.

The removal tool, I would only use the one they offer, whether you buy it new or borrow someones. It's perfectly machined and works well, I've done this job about 10 times. As far as the install tool, you can rent that from any auto parts store. The smallest size from the "bearing race and seal driver set" fits it perfectly. If you plan on installing a new seal, a 2" PVC coupler is the perfect size to drive it in. That said, these CV seals are REALLY finicky. If yours isn't leaking, I wouldn't touch it.

Appreciate it, thats good insight. Assumed do the seal while I'm right there but I like to subscribe to the, if it aint broke dont fix it as much as I can as well. Any other pro tips on the job since you have 10 of them under your belt?

Put the bushing in the freezer before you start the job. It'll shrink just enough to make driving it in easier.

If you don't plan on changing the diff oil, only jack up the driver's side and get it really high. That way when you remove the CV axle, you won't lose any fluid.

Put a plastic baggy in the diff before you try and remove the needle bearing. That way you don't drop anything in the diff.

Inspect the needle bearing once it's removed. Usually, a small piece of metal will break off of it and I fish it out with a magnet.

I use half of my floor jack handle over the handle of the bearing driver so I can get a proper swing on it with a 3 lb hammer.

If you don't get the bushing driven all the way flush, that's ok. As long as it's not poking more than ~1/8" out and you can still get the CV seated.

Hello NoVa Tacoheads... Looking to get the frame inspection done on my '14 DCSB. Any recommendations on dealerships to use or avoid. Located in Luray and don't want to go to the dealership in H'burg. I've dealt with Malloy in Winchester and they seem to be decent. I've also heard good things about Battlefield Toyota in Culpepper. Thanks!

Gotcha. I don't need tires or tpms, so that no problemo. Now i just need 3 other people to split with haha. Or if price is right, I'll scoop em all and resell on my end

Depending on price I could be good for one because it would be a matching full size spare for my wife's 4runner

Can your pretty words help me out with an odd question? :D

I'm going to grab those TRD Pro take-offs from my coworker that I mentioned before, but I also want to trash the Dakars while I am in there. I know we talked about the RXTs, but I am worried about the Fox rears not being right for the amount of potential droop with the RXT. I would be running the RXT as they ship with no extra leaf. Should I be concerned with that and just go for an AAL on my stock pack for now?
