How to lift a TRD PRO (a bit) w/ stock suspension

Finally picked up this guy yesterday. Soooper pumped! I've logged 50 ish km and it rides smoother over all road conditions and dives less under braking than my stock 2018 Pro. Perhaps it's just because it's new or maybe because of the different shock tune...but when I put E rated 285s on my 2018 I noticed the difference in ride comfort immediately: pot holes, train tracks and entering parking lots were more jarring. This one seems to soak up the harshness much better without feeling like a waterbed when stopping at a light.

Did the Westcott design and Icon AAL (no overload spring), truck is now squatting a little with the Smartcap. Going to install the 1" rear block and see if that levels the truck.

 

Truck looks great! Any idea how much lift you gained in the rear with the deavers?

 

Measured out at 3 1/2" of lift. Still waiting on a rear bumper and I'm sure they'll rest about 1/2" so I'll probably be around 2-2 1/2" all said and done which is where I wanted it. I really like the stance now though!

 

Westcott with RXT 285/75/16

 

With front mudflaps, Nice work. How do you like the ride after doing the Westcott? My kit has been on for about 6 Months now and I think it rides great.

 

recommend doing the westcott with rxt. ride was rough and jarring with blocks in rear.

 

I went with the blocks from Westcott. But I also run Airbags due to heavy loads on occasion and towing so my ride is actually a little on the soft side. Front is great. The preload (I assume) made a huge difference for a more intact feel.

 

NIce! Curious on how the fox shocks feel with that amount of lift. Do you feel like they are going to perform well in that range or need upgraded down the road? I would like to lift mine and keep the fox shocks but don't want to kill the ride quality at the same time.

 

I’ve had it out on the trails, they’ve done great. I don’t bomb around anymore though. I go slow and enjoy the ride now. Who knew at 42 (almost) I’d be in no rush anymore. I used to love leaving the ground in my trucks, now I feel like a boss if I make it up without wheel spin

Hah! Just turned 42 yesterday!

I added a camper shell and lost the factory rake (pretty much level). It sags a little when loaded up and even more so loaded and pulling the trailer. Been looking at options but have been hesitant to pull the trigger because I wasn't sure the fox shocks would perform well with the added lift. My last truck rode a little rough after I put the lift on and that's the last thing I want to do to this one as it is my daily.

I use mine as my daily also and I was a little hesitant that it would ride like a tank. I think it rides better than factory now! Looking forward to the rear bumper getting here to put just a little more weight in the ass. Should be about perfect. It tracks down the interstate better also. Some of it probably has to do with the new tires, the factory goodyears are like wet noodles! Couldn't believe how soft the sidewalls were when I removed them...
