How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

Ordered an army green 2021 Tacoma TRD sport premium 6’ box in northern BC on may 2nd, was told 3-4 month wait, just hoping it shows up for my 3 weeks off in August!

 

Picked up the truck yesterday!

Inquired: 3/23
Deposit: 3/29
Built: 4/21
Dealer Arrival: 5/13
Delivery: 5/14

 

It didn't get delivered until late yesterday. Picked it up today. Just got through installing the NFab step rails. magnetic gray metallic

I put a deposit on a TRD offroad last week that has a build date of 5/18. Not sure how long the process takes to get here but beyond excited...

 

so, my truck was built 11 days ago (5/5) but has not yet hit 'in-transit' status.. seems odd - any guesses why this might be?

 

Mine was built 10/26 and didn’t ship until 12/4. My salesman said it was in quality hold, possibly because of the fuel pump recall which it did not need. However, others on the forum have stated that already built vehicles have to wait until there is enough production to fill the boat, which also makes sense.

 

seriously, how disappointing, I would have tweaked. FAIL for that dealership sales/management

 

So after putting down my deposit on 2/18. Not getting it allocated til 3/18. It was set to be built on 6/7, got pushed back to 6/15. This is torture

 

An extra week? That's not big deal. There's a good chance it would have shipped on the same day regardless.

I put my deposit down the same day as you. I'm still waiting on allocation. It ain't all bad, man.

 

It originally had an estimate of being delivered at the end of May. It's just annoying because I've turned down others because of the price I was getting on this one. Now Toyota has stopped their incentive program til further notice so I may not even get the original price. Positive side is no car note and am saving on insurance with only 1 car for a few months. Just annoying is all.

 

I passed that truck twice this week. I was tempted to go test drive it because I haven’t driven a manual Tacoma yet.

 

Are the Guanajuatoto trucks going rail to ships then back to rail once @ US ports?

 

I inquired shortly after the first post about this truck. while getting some questions answered the next morning, it sold.
My black TRD OR 6mt with no options should arrive the first week of June. So, i'll keep waiting.

 

I spent ~10min with salesman on his computer but we both knew they didn't have what I wanted already allocated. I was up front that I fully expected to wait 3-4mo and was prepared to do so. Spent 20min (maybe) with the manager confirming the exact factory packages & color I wanted, gave them the deposit & was on my way.

Waiting for a 7568 w/ premium OR, tech packages & LED lights in Silver or magnetic grey. The fact that I don't want the MTM will likely slow the process down a bit but I don't need the extra cameras.

 

Well, I am still waiting on mine. If you haven't heard I have been waiting since the beginning of January. I was told It was coming at the end of April but apparently someone was waiting for my exact build and was given my truck. We know it was a lie because I was told by the manager that no one built one like mine but apparently when the truck came in the manager said that this guy (dealer employee) ordered the exact truck 4 months prior to me ordering it. What they didn't know was I found out who the guy was and asked how long he had to wait he apparently only "ordered it" a few months ago. Let's just say I am still pissed about it. They keep telling me they know nothing about a pre vin and that they will not know the vin and when it will be here until it hits the distribution lot. This last week I was told I should hear something by the 22nd and should know what the vin is. I would normally walk away due to this stuff but I have been waiting forever and my build is a rare one apparently. With that said I am starting to just say screw it and go with another vehicle.

 

@Ghost0317 would imagine a 7568 in green isn't common but what package(s) did you also specify?

 

I picked mine up today. Started the process in October, got the run around from nearly everyone until December. Put down deposits at two separate places on Jan 1. The first dealership just kind of gave me a handwavey date of "Middle of May" that it would come in, and then stopped taking my calls/emails. The place I ultimately bought it from didn't even process the deposit, they just put in a request via allocation on Jan 7th. Got it confirmed on the 17th. Build date was originally March 22, then April 4, then April 7. Delivery was April 14th, then the 17th, then May 7, then May 11, and then May 14. It got delivered Friday morning, they tinted the windows over the weekend, and I picked it up yesterday.

In the middle of all that, I got my deposit back from the first dealership, who never actually ordered me a truck. When I called to get my deposit refunded, they first tried to convince me to stay with them, promising that they would order me one and have it delivered in October. Then they told me that they could get the one I had allocated through the other dealership sent to them instead, and then sell it to me for $1000 cheaper. Then the head of their sales team threatened to steal the allocation from the other dealership. Then he told me they didn't actually have to refund my deposit. It was only after I threatened a lawyer that I got a swift transfer to finance and a refund. What a shitty dealership.

But not Riley Toyota! They were great, worked hard for me, and didn't pull any BS on me at all. They kept me informed as to what was happening and why, and put in the work to make sure that it was built exactly like I wanted.

TRD Sport Access Cab Long Bed MT, Blackout Package. Replaces a 2000 that got put out to literally pasture as a farm vehicle, after my coworker welded a bunch of steel to the frame to fix the crack.

 

Your dealer is full of shit. They get a pre-vin (I have the PDF with the pre-vin from my allocated build), and then once it's built they get the real one. I have a PDF of that as well.

 

I know it doesn't apply to most of us on here but the name of the first dealership would be nice to know so they can be avoided.
