I wouldn't be concerned. You're correct in thinking that the shocks will be the limiting factor in droop, but with your current setup, your shocks are also the limiting factor. This isn't necessarily the correct way to have a rear set up, but it's extremely common. Anyone who bolts in an aftermarket leaf pack without a shock relocation is going to be using shocks as limit straps. The icon rxt will ride way better than a stock pack and AAL

I figured, thanks for clarifying. I don't want the AAL for sure, just didn't want to break anything. Should I be looking for some limit straps, then? I hate doing things the wrong way, and apparently I have been using my shocks as limit straps this whole time! Yikes. Thanks for setting me straight on that little tidbit of info as well!

Limit straps would be the correct way to fix that but would require some welding. I wouldn't stress it though. 99% of people aren't running rear limit straps and don't have issues. If you do hit full extension, it'll be a slow speed thing so the shock won't be seeing too much force.

Copy, thanks again. Yeah, don't want to weld for sure, especially over here and on this truck. Appreciate it!

I'm only in if the price is low. I don't really have a need for it

Is the problem that a longer shock doesn't compress as much?? Also, did the OV tune yesterday... Wow what a difference.

Dave! You need to update that avatar and info for your new truck, lol! I've been considering the KDMAX tune over here, just not sure if I want to spend a bit more and buy the kit to do it myself. I don't like the idea of someone else messing with my truck.

My concern was that the shock would break under full droop. I think the Pro Fox's are probably the same-ish travel of the OME I am currently running.

Ov tune is 800 to do it yourself, I let a guy mess with my truck and paid him 250. How much is KDMax? One of the things I like about the OV tune is that it doesn't mess with d2s at all.

So what is the right way to do the rear shock setup without welding?

So based on my rough math in public , the KDMAX would be about $450 (equip + tune) to do it myself and $300 to have someone locally do it for me. The reviews on the tune are quite convincing, I just am leaning toward doing it myself so I have the option to go back to stock or even reload the tune if required.

As for the shock setup without welding, I will let one of the sage NoVA RC peeps chime in with the correct response...:D
