    Nice little rainbow.

Used to fly fish up in Potter County with my dad and grandfather when I was a wee lad. Can't remember the streams we used to fish though.

Haven't been fly fishing in a long, long time though.

If you're in the RB Winter area it might be worth the drive to run up the Penns Creek.

Centralia is basically a waste of time at this point. The internet blew up the place and now anything that was worth looking at is gone.
    Truly a shame.

I’ll agree that the Kinzua bridge is a neat place to see. When I was there they were still building the visitors center but it did walk out on it.

Heading to Bald Eagle this Friday for the first time. Would like to experience a combo of hiking, fishing, exploring sites and also driving on some fun roads. Hoping to find some fly fishing for me and also some family friendly shore/bank fishing for some panfish etc.

Just came back from visiting Pine Creek and was bummed that all of their fire roads were gated off. I get the impression that Bald Eagle is not like that.

I do have Purple Lizard's maps for Rothrock and Bald Eagle, but haven't gotten to study them yet.

I get the impression that Bald Eagle isn't quite as extreme remote as Pine Creek was, but also read that I can't exactly rely on cell service up there either, if I do something stupid on a trail.

Given my truck (OR, 2" lift, 265/75/16 Wildpeaks, front skid), I'm guessing it's pretty slim chance that I get into trouble in anything up there, given the lack of rain in the past couple of weeks, too. I just don't want to do something idiotic since it'll just be me and my wife and small child by ourselves. Different than not caring when out with a buddy or two with multiple trucks. I do plan on brining a shovel, axe, traction boards, and a hand winch along with my straps I carry all the time.

Curious if anyone around the park uses a specific CB channel to communicate if need be? Seems it would be smart if cell isn't available.

If anyone has any pointers for great spots to fish, grab lunch, or drive to check out, I'd love to hear. Also if anyone will be out in that area or exploring around this weekend Fri-Sun, let me know and could make sense to hit a trail or two as a group.

I live in the area. The cell service is terrible at best in the forest. You're unlikely to get into anything a stock truck can't handle.

For trout, there's RB Winter state park, there's also White Deer Creek. From RB Winter: Fishing creek is over the mountain to the north. Penns Creek is over the mountain to the south. The Howard Dam has crappies. Walker Lake also has crappies, but it's 2 mountains over 192 -> Stover Gap Road (which has the benefit of also having Old Negro Hollow road, which is a fun offroad trail) -> 235 -> troxelville road. At the top of 235 before you go down into Troxelville you can head off into the mountains and hit Henstep Valley Road, which is a pretty easy offroad trail. Walker also has catfish and carp if that's your style. Catfish at the spillway, carp at the shallow end.
