TSB - Rear Spring or new AAL

Would I be happier with an aftermarket AAL or will the TSB ride as good?

 

The TSB will only give you 1" in the rear once it settles, i personally like the ride more once i got my TSB leafs done.

 

Both will give you a stiffer ride than stock.

What exactly do you mean by "riding good"?

 

I suggest both if you're actually gonna do some towing or loading the bed for things.

 

I have a non tsb 2007 access cab. It would bottom out with no weight in it going over every bump. We put a ToyTec AAL on it, and a set of 5100's all around to solve the problem. Very happy with the ride now, the fronts gave it exactly 2.5 inches, and the back should have been 2 inches. but even now with weight on it I am well over 3+ inches of lift. If you can get the TSB done under warranty, I would do that first, and then if you feel the need you can do the AAL later.

 

the TSB is free, if you need an AAL after that do it, or get new leaf packs

 

I just got the TSB done a couple days ago. I'm in the "deciding" period as far as what else I'm going to do with the suspension. I love the ride it has now, more "truck-like"/stiff. Doesn't feel like a 1978 Cadillac anymore after I go over a bump.

It has plenty of height right now, raised by almost 1.5", will probably settle at 1". At that point I think I'm going to throw in 5100's up front at 1.75" and call it a day.

 

I did the same thing and had to add the 1 1/2 AAL in the rear ,the front was an inch higher than the rear .

 

TSB and billys at .85 seems to work perfect

Free if you have a warranty still. My 07 did not have anymore bumper-to-bumper warranty when I bought it, nor was I aware of the TSB. So, In my case I had no realistic choice other than to install an AAL. So I did, and so far I'm happy. All I've done is added the leaf. No aftermarket shocks or anything. I HAVE had it bottom out with the added leaf, but its harder to do now. I have a double cab btw.
