What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I Uses the clock power supply and the clock power wire that dims for the light.
So there are two power wires there,

Used the gauge shipping black box cardboard holding tab for the background in the clock area and
bent the metal tab and trimmed it and a cut out for the wire plug in the back.

 

I love my plasma cutter lol, totally worth it

 

I drove around in the rain creating a Nice rooster tail thinking about a Haltech 2000

 

Might as well turbo it if you're going to go that route.

But seriously. You should turbo if you do that work. So much more power potential.

 

I would love too, can’t, I need the reliability because this is my daily driver at 30k a year.
AND the earlier tacoma has zero space in the grill area for an intercooler,
1998 forward have like 3" or so more area behind the grill, with my AC condenser there is zero space 4 me

Not sure what your current rear lift. But rear icon shocks are 0-1.5”. I ran them for quite a while and was limiting my down travel a lot. My rear lift is about 3”

 

Turbo wouldn't be any less reliable really once it's set up. But whatever.

Cool did not know that. I might have to go that route.

Is your glowshift gauge to your oil pressure digitally? The one I got here is analog if i remember correctly

 

The Haltech 750 is not OBII compatible, so its not functional.
The Haltech 2000 works with the OBII and is functional.
And he said you can unplug the wires and go back to the stock ECU for Emissions and only takes
30 minutes to do this

 

This gauge is for supercharger temperatures air before the supercharger and the temperatures after it’s gone through after being compressed.

That's interesting they say 0 - 1.5" now for the rear 2.0 Icons, when I got mine 3 years ago they were advertised for 0 - 3" of rear lift.

I've been running them with 3" rear lift for the last 45k miles and no issues. I'm surprised I haven't blown them if they're too short. Honestly at 45k I'm surprised they haven't leaked yet regardless being Icons and all

 

Yeah I'd probably upgrade to a 2000 if I did it for a few other features. Pretty cool though. Would make install a lot simpler for me.

 

Yeah...they were mislabeled on a few sites. I was always concerned with how much shaft was showing. As a temporary fix I’m running 9” bilstein 5125 shock. They fit much better. I’m going to do shock relocation and get ads ordered this winter.

 

Deleted rear stock proportioning valve and did a solid line crowne ss line and wildwood proportioning valve..old one was leaking and worthless..

Had torque convertor cut open at Dalenzie torque convertors and Josh pulled the 2 piece bearing out machined the bearing seat and did a larger 1 piece bearing as well as looked for any chunks from blown tranny...clean..filter did its job

Rebuilt my tranny pump and replaced transmission

Did a tranny cooler as well..

 

Yup, you use the Haltech O2 sensor that replaces the Toyota 02 sensor in the same location and the rest is unplug and plug and he makes a start up map for you with all your info,
He says he has plenty of maps on file to get you going,
The final tune he says takes two hours if he does it remotely with you.
I have some serious thinking to do now, it’s just a lot of money but probably the best solution of all the options for engine management.

They are 6 weeks out (back order) on getting these available or made but probably going to pull the trigger on this in the coming month or two,

IF I ever went turbo at least this part would be done
