Hearts no, gizzards, heck yes! I've yet to BBQ gizzards though. Typically boil them, batter them, and fry em'. When I lived in Mississippi they sold fried chicken in pretty much every gas station around. There was one that had the best ones I've ever had. Never been able to replicate it since there was always a language barrier and could never get the whole recipe.

Centralia was featured a year or so ago on one of the History channel type shows I watch. I must be getting old as I can’t recall which show it was. Kinda strange that I can live in a state for 40+ years and not hear about a never ending coal mine fire under a town until I see it on a random TV show 60 years after it started.

Is that the bug deflector or hood protector? I had a hood protector but feel as if the bug deflector would provide a lot more usefulness.

I am looking into purchasing a 19-21' travel trailer. My goal is to stick to 3-4000 lbs.

I'd like to use a weight distribution hitch with anti sway for safety. Most of the ones in stock are for 10-14k, which seems to be a lot of overkill. If that isn't an issue then I can pick one up most anywhere.

I'm lifted and have a custom spring pack on the rear. It is supposed to be 3" and 1300 lbs over stock each side. I have a little rake, so I'd say more around 3 1/2" lift. I also have a high clearance bumper. I've yet to see a hitch with a net drop of more than 3 1/2". I'm guessing I need somewhere around 8" for it to be level.

I'm also looking for a sleek trailer brake set up. IIRC my 2005 had a plug and pigtail that went behind the kicker panel. Would my 2012 be similar, can this be picked up at a dealer?

    Thanks for any insight

You definitely want a WD system, properly set up they make towing much less stressful. You can buy adjustable shanks to raise or lower your ball height. You set the system up once for your truck and trailer, not difficult just follow the instructions.

Is 10-14k too heavy? It seems to be the standard, but also 10,000 lbs more than my anticipated trailer weight.

On my old HD Reese system you set the amount of spring with different chain positions. The higher rated systems have stronger bars, that said it may be a concern that the 10-14K might not be able to be adjusted light enough for your needs and end up being very harsh acting.

The Reese site shows systems starting at 4000 trailer weight in the Light Duty line.

Probably the best thing to do is go to a few long established trailer dealers and speak to the oldest guys there. This is something you need to do once and do right, towing is serious business. (...I know -- I'm a mother hen...;))
