Why do some call it a truck but others say pickup ?

I heard somebody call their Ridgeline a truck. The Ridgeline isn't a truck, it did hold up better than the Tacoma it crashed in to. Both vehicles got totalled. The Ridge line probably would have not been totaled if it didn't have a brushgaurd installed, it also hit the side of the front plate bumper on the Tacoma.

 

That looks like a bogie.

My worst roasting is when I referred to the little roads that run alongside the freeway as "feeders." Anyone outside of Houston calls those either frontage roads or access roads, apparently.

Anyone outside of Texas (and neighboring states) usually say "what roads?"

 

Either is 1,000,000 times better than calling it a "rig."

This is how I break it down....

Truck - body on frame, multi-speed transfer case, at least 1 solid axle (tacoma, 4runner, wrangler, etc)
Pickup - has a bed (tacoma, ridgeline, el camino, brat, etc)

Pickup truck - combo of the above (tacoma, ram, f150, etc)

 

pick-em-up truck

 

I call it a Rig.
