Just my input, even though the question wasn't directed at me. SV650s are pretty comfy from my limited rides. Your rear end will be probably be sore from sitting that long, but no other discomforts in my opinion unless you have existing back / shoulder issues. Dudes ride SV's cross-country all the time because they provide a more natural, upright position.

Realistically your 80 mile day on a Grom is probably around 2.5 or 3 hours? Assuming you're slabbing it home that amount of time at highway speeds will get you 200+ miles. I have zero time on the SV so I can't speak for it's comfort level. What I can tell you is on long rides like I do I take 3-4 ibuprofen before I even leave to head off soreness and repeat every 4-5 hours. How big of a rush are you in? There's 24 hours in a day so you can always ride several hours then stop and take a break somewhere like a nice sit down meal or at a rest area and take a power nap on a picnic table. I napped about 90 minutes once sitting on my bike slumped over my tankbag with jacket pulled over my head at a Wawa. You can expect to be a little stiff and sore the following day or two since your body isn't used to doing this sort of thing but you can do it.

    Where at in PA?

Early spring camping first weekend in April. This little bastard literally spent all of three days attacking the mirrors on my truck. No damage, thankfully

Agreed, order placed. I'm on my bike a lot during the week during working hours and I gotta know if calls/texts come in (sales), pull over and address it. I'm also that guy that loves to ride because I hear nothing but the bike and my environment. Don't do music or listen to map prompts. That may change as my GF is getting more comfortable riding and she wants to be able to speak to me. So bluetooth in the helmets may happen. Careful what you wish for.

Hardly a beast! Needed a mandatory 2 hour rest bonus during a 24 hour rally and not paying for a room for just 2 hours. I walked in and spoke to manager and they were cool with it, in fact offered to wake me at the appropriate time.

Wayne is about 95 miles from me near Philly. Depending when you came up I'd ride out and meet you, ride part way back with you. Close to Revzilla in Philly too so give me an excuse to go shopping.

I've thought about one of those for the Rally I picked up but with all the rain I haven't gotten in a long enough ride to tell how much my ass needs it. It's definitely on my list of things to get so I'll have to see if it needs to move up the list.

I’m thinking that’ll still melt on a long ride. The Apache cases are injection molded plastic- pretty flimsy stuff compared to the fiber reinforced counterpart from pelican. Should be fine for short trips but I’d keep an eye on it if I were you.

Seat concepts is definitely worth it, mines an SM so I'm usually sitting down so it might have been a little more important for me.

I would definitely like another dual sport though, I miss falling over in the woods all day.
