If I keep the house and start remodeling it, I may pick up a Diesel truck to haul around lumber and supplies.

Even for city driving it's not bad. I used to drive my friend's Diesel truck around but it's the smell which bothers me.

 

I was talking to someone about his Dodge Diesel pickup. At around 800,000 miles Dodge replace his fuel injectors under warranty. He mentioned that he never spent a dime in repairs but only on routine maintenance stuff.

From reading and my friend is a Diesel mechanic its seem like the Cummings Diesel paired with a Allison transmission is a unbeatable combination for a work truck.

Heh, I thought it would be a fun little daily beater. Boy was I wrong. I just hope to Hell I can get out from under it with a couple dollars in my pocket... Besides the questionable reliability it's really hard for me to get in and out of and I'm only 5'8" 190lbs

And that's the point I'm at. Not wanting to do much more to it or spend any more money. Getting way too deep in this thing. I will probably likely see if I can get the fabric to do the headliner, but that's it.

I picked up a toy this week and towed it the 300 miles home without issue. It only weighs 2k pounds, got around 16-17 mpg with it up and down the Yukon hills. Also installed the tonneau cover I picked up for a couple hundred bucks (monopoly money).

Anyone else use a tent trailer? Looking for tips to clean the canvas up a bit. I gotta oil up the leveling jacks but for the most part this is a nice little camper to grab for cheap while the demand is so high with covid.

 

Nice find. What year is she? I don't know much about them....but like any trailer, check how old the tires are and get those bearings checked and repacked

 

Store it where you know there’s no mice. My buddy had one and cooked in it during hunting season, he stored it at a vacant space on a farm. The mice were attracted to all the food smells I suppose and took up shop.
When he when to pick it up to go camping the following summer, it was crawling with mice and everything was chewed and destroyed, nest in the foam rubber ect. Complete loss. Frame and tires were fine. But that was about it.
