Are theses stickers plug and play?

 

Yes, they are. But, because of a Customs hold, you will only receive the backing paper for it first. The sticker itself will arrive as soon as possible once Customs releases the roll.

 

So I finally got my actual handle last night. As usually the package looked like it was shipped by an angry gorilla. I’m not sure who’s fault that is. The handle itself has a few blemishes as you can see. It honestly looks like someone had previously tried to pry it off which is weird.

The bottom bolt was a pain in the ass. The handle comes with two collar grommet things to guide the bolt. Unfortunately the handle isn’t the right size so the grommet can just fall out. In anyone is doing this install I would recommend adding a layer of painters tape so it stays securely held. I had mine in there and at one point The handle popped off. The grommet evaporated into the ether. I moved the truck, searched the garage, sent magnets down all the vents, it’s just plain gone. So I just said fuck it and installed I with some other grommet I had playing around.

the hardware isn’t the same quality as the Toyota’s bolts. The Toyota bolts have a slight taper so they easily find the hole and thread. The top I had to thread in and it almost felt like I was cross threading it. The bottoms bolt just would not thread. I had the nut part held in place with painters tape as well so it wouldn’t fall off. After having it on and off at least 4 times, I finally got it. Anyways. In retrospect not sure it’s worth the $180 or 6 month wait, but at least the ordeal is over. If anyone needs some install tips hit me up and maybe I can help you out.

I was going to order a sticker, but then I read somewhere that you may have to bend the glass just ever so slightly to complete the install. So as much as I would really like to have the sticker, I decided to pass.

 

Wouldn’t doubt it. At least I can put this chapter of my life behind me. Haha

 

You can try plugging them into a socket, but you might not like the results

 

I would put a small mark on the inside and return it. Then we can see who gets it next.

I had received the wrong size clipnut (M6) with my original shipment that took forever to arrive. After informing KTJO of the fact, she sent me an entire new hardware pack. So I have extra collar spacers if you want one for your handle.

 

I believe the molders just tossed the parts in a box for shipping to the folks what wrap and ship them to KTJO 4x4. That is my guess at the source of the crappy edge finish on the handles. Zero QC or any attempt of feedback in the system.

It sounds like you need to tweak the upper clip.

Yeah, the bottom bushing hole is too large on all of them even though it as splines to capture the bushing. Again, zero QC at ever stage of the project.
