I am still fine with that date, I would rather do this right with springs that went through a full engineering process and not just slapped together spacers or all in one options. I still have tread left on my OE tires, so no point in lifting yet either.

Can someone help explain what the differences between the Eibach spring upgrade to the Westcott lift? I’m trying understand the pro’s and cons of these two options for us TRD Pro owners.

The westcott kit provides its lift in 2 ways. It replaces the bottom spring perch with one that sits a little higher (this preloads the spring a bit more) then it uses a strut top spacer to get the rest of the lift (this pushes the whole strut down providing lift)

Generally spacer lifts are frowned upon due them making the strut become the bump stop. If you land hard, you can fold the struts over, or damage the piston inside the strut.

Honest question; does that make this statement a lie?
"This is not a spacer lift. This kit does not change the geometry of the factory suspension. This kit will not limit your factory travel or extend the travel pass factory."

Its a partial lie yes. Since it uses both, its not considered a full spacer lift, but rather a partial spacer lift so they can say its not a spacer lift.

So do we know how this Eibach upgrade works exactly? Does it just cram a bigger spring in there to "increase" preload, or is it just more stiffly sprung (higher spring weight, same length) to support heavier front ends?
I'm looking to regain the clearance I would lose with a hidden winch and the skids/sliders I already have on the truck, not increase the lift over stock height or compromise the bypass zones of the Fox shocks.

Eibach told us it's a longer spring, same spring rate.

Ideally I want the same thing as you (same length spring, higher spring rate), but this is product that's closest to what we're looking for.

You sound as frugal as me! I'm still running OEM GY Wranglers even with a set of the Eibach TRD Pro test springs installed. I did order a set of 17x8 Evo Course DakarZeros in Matte Black from Main Line Overland. They won't be until August, so my stock tires should just about be wore out by then.

So would the Toytec lift provide a higher spring rate? Assuming also longer?

They are rated at 700#s, stock TRD Pro are 650#s. Not sure on length it doesn't say on Toytecs website.

I thought as much. I would guess they're longer if they don't use a spacer, to provide the claimed lift.
I wish the Eibachs were 700#s.

"Full engineering process.." sounds like they just made a longer spring. Which is basically the same thing as the westcott/toytec kit, except it's in the form of just a spring.. so they will preload a longer spring.. unless that spring has less coils, I don't get how it's going to be engineered any better than either kit.

Well, westcott uses a top spacer in addition to spring perches. So already better than the westcott kit.

But, the comment was more related to the toytec where they just pushed out a spring with a universal spring perch on the bottom, nothing listed for the top to make up for the different spring designs between 17-19 and 20-21. Them just putting out a single design shows me that they either didnt do the research needed, didnt bring in trucks from each version of the suspension, or consult the user base to see that 1 spring version is not going to be universal for 2 different spring mounting types. Eibach has been here with us, getting our feedback so they know that there are multiple versions of the pro suspension that have different needs. We have several members on here currently running on prototype springs to give them feedback, we have a full view of the design and implementation of the spring. Toytec just appeared with a spring one day.

We could just buy the Toytec springs and cut them a bit lol. Half joking, half seriously considering it..

Just talked to Eibach. Was for sure a glitch in the matrix. I was told I should never have been able to order or pay for the purchase, nor should it have shown as being available. I was told by the person I spoke with that we are looking at potentially August according to the engineering guy he spoke with while we were on the phone. Back to debating the wescott lift again or just gutting the whole thing for a new suspension.

Ask your self, do you really need 1.5 more inches right now? or can you wait a little longer? Do you have new wheels and tires already picked out and ready to buy? Is the stock suspension still doing what you need it to do?

I got the same answer when I called them last week. August it is.
