Has anyone stayed at Willow River State Park campground? I'm doing another road trip out west in August, and was thinking of staying 2 nights in that area for a break and do a bike event. It's a convenient location for the drive/event.... So looking for any input on it? Safe/clean place to camp?

I've never been there but it's a state park so I wouldn't have any qualms about staying there. Never had an issue in a Wisconsin State Park that would keep me from staying in one except not being able to get a site. It's close to the Cities so probably gets busy, make reservations soon.

    Which event you doing?

I got the 55 qt lifetime cooler (the smaller of these 2)
    83A90980-F56A-4DD2-844B-07D7E5DEDC42.jpg
I might need more storage space for beers and 1/2 gallons of Yukon Jack for this group. The 115 qt lifetime cooler might be the last cooler I ever buy. That’s what I’ll tell my wife!!!! Lol

I might need to see if it will clear the tonneau cover.

    More beer and snakebites!!!!

    Traded it in.

I have the 28qt version and love it. Last August it did just as well if not a bit better than the Yeti we also had with us.

    Yes!
I have the lifetime 55qt and it held ice for my weekend trip and sat in the basement for a week.. 8 days still had ice and cold beers.
A yeti 115 qt is around $360-$500 depending on site. The lifetime 115qt $197.00 at Walmart.

I told the wife I need a fiberglass cap so I can stack coolers in the bed.

Awesome, thanks! Yea, I've generally had good luck at State and National Parks, but sometimes ya never know.

So, I'm ultimately heading to Montana and the only event I could find for the weekend I'll be in WI/MN is a new Road event, Bridge the Valley https://www.bikereg.com/49695.

I figure it'd be a good way to see the area at least. (Otherwise on the other weekends of the road trip I'll be doing The Last Best Ride in Whitefish MT, Dakota Five-O in Spearfish SD, and Keystone Gravel, PA)

Which route are you doing? I do a lot of road biking and that seems like a fun ride.

I was thinking of doing the 66 as I don't have a gravel bike or a bike with enough clearance for anything larger than 28s.

The 77 quart version has been excellent! I have loaded mine with ice and beer on a Wednesday or Thursday and had cold beer on Sunday, even without latching it most of the time. Great product!

A friend of mine has been having similar results with a new Igloo cooler that was about $100.

I picked up the Lifetime 55qt ahead of the last outing on @BookieBob ’s recommendation. It worked out so well I just picked up the 28qt version for solo trips.
