    Thanks for the tip, oops.

Potentially problematic. Maybe we have to make one

I'll wait-n-see. OVTune just posted in here yesterday and didn't mention anything about TT discussions migrating.

Happy to see general vF Tuner discussions moving out of the forced induction specific thread.

All VF Tuner / Software / tuning / development / etc will be migrating to our forum. It's just becoming impossible to keep up with trying to remember everything on multiple forums.

    This thread won't be migrating

Question for the group at large, especially anyone with boost controller familiarity.

Ever since the boost controller went in, when I floor it in 2nd and 3rd, the turbos howl like a demon from the underworld. Controller is set to 8psi from the shop that most recently worked on my truck, although like this morning at 60-deg ambient temp I was hitting 9 in 3-4gear and then when it's super hot, like 90 out, I'll hit like 6-8, depending on gear. 2-6, lower psi as gears get higher.

I don't for a second believe it's the kind of howl you get from turbo failure. Turbos have only been onboard for 3200mi, wouldn't make sense.

But now when at WOT, or near it, you hear this insanely loud rushing howl and I was wondering if this is basically a result of my turbos and y-pipe wanting to flow all of the air under the sun and the boost controller being like hold up, nah bro.

Correct me if I'm not understanding what's happening there please. Just trying to find a reason for the madness.

Pulls strong. I'll be sending Mat a datalog or two when I get the updated tune because I still think some of the powerband could use some smoothing.

    Can you video it?

does it feel laggier than usual?

It only happened after the boost controller install? nothing else was touched?

Boost controller went in at the same time as the bolt repair.

Not sure if it's laggier...hard to say because I really hadn't gone WOT much after blowing through all those map revisions with you. So it's been a bit and I can't remember 100%... definitely wasn't this loud before the controller though. When my overboosting issue was fixed but the controller wasn't in yet, I don't think it did this but I could be wrong...

I'll try to video it. Hopefully it comes out on video.

Does the sound only really happen in boost?
if so, 99% the gasket is leaking only under high exhaust pressure. Was that gasket replaced where the bolt was?

Just did some pulls, took a vid, uploading to YouTube now and will link when it's done.

Yes, only happens in boost, only happens at WOT/near WOT i think, and I just discovered that it appears to also not happen until 4k rpm or greater, which is rare for me anyway...

Yes, gasket was replaced where the bolt was damaged/repaired/replaced. Gasket had been fucked, new one got put in by the shop.

It's also hard to say if it's laggier. Could be. It's still smooth and strong, but perhaps a little laggier? Idk, hard to tell. Gets you moving super fast in a hurry regardless lol

You can pretty much ignore the first pull if you'd like, since I'm not sure if it caught it very well with my windows down. Can jump forward to 0:50 or so if you want.

Video doesn't make it seem as loud as it is. Or it's fine and I'm just hyper-analyzing every little thing since I've had things to fix lately.

That sounds exactly like a boost leak. Like when a clamp isn't tight enough to hold boost but not loose enough to pop off.

    Really. Lol

@OVTune I swear to fucking god that's probably one of the most relieving things you could have said to me lmfao after the frustrations I've had lately, I get told it's just a boost leak hahahahaha

And apparently I'm going crazy lol
