Well, sounds cool to me and well see how close they are to their statements when it comes out

Its not going to do that, at least not the current models and they aren't made for those extreme conditions. However, I am sure down the line they will get there

Depends on how many charging points are on his route though.

You can drive 470 miles on one tank of gas?

I want to see how reliable the BEV 1ton pick up that is plowing snow and loaded down with salt running 18 hrs a day, in freezing temperatures performs as a whole vehicle.

They'd be reliable moreso than a petrol. You'd need to charge more often than putting fuel in it.

The ICE trucks that are being used now rot away from carrying and spreading salt, and those are not sitting on batteries.

Can you run tire chains on a BEV?

I don't know the anti corrosion on BEV trucks or if they can use tire chains.

But what about wings, Steve? Can a BEV fly? Why isn’t anyone talking about whether they can handle a jacuzzi in the back like my 84 stretch limo? WHY DON’T YOU KNOW?!

Besides the obvious current issue of range there's no reason the rest of this couldn't happen.

And that truck has an engine that requires huge volumes of air to move through and has way more potential spots for salt/water to get in yet its sealed up to run fine in that environment. But you don't think the same can be done to a sealed electric motor? Again, if you can seal a gas tank why can't you seal a battery?

Electric motors have been working in industrial applications for over a 100 years at this point. You have electric motors all over your truck today that work fine.

Any commercial vehicle builder probably wants to address and solve any potential issues.

Right now, a business owner who's entire business revolves around a commercial truck would need to have 2 BEVs to replace their 1 ICE truck.

One to use, and another sitting on the charger.

In some states, at least in NJ, no state inspection required for full BEV vehicles.

Steve, I love you. You’re so persistent! If I still live in Brooklyn I’d cross the river and toss back a craft beer with you in Freehold. But I’m too far right now since my Tacoma only gets 450 miles to the tank (I can’t stop to refuel), so there’s no way to have a gam. Alas.

I'm sure Ford has thought of this.

I can't realistically see BEV being viable with out the support of ICE or Hybrid vehicles.
