    I made mine 52" x 52"

I kind of wish I would have done 36" x 24". I'm still learning mine, so if and when I get confident enough to cut out large quantities or parts, that may change. Right now I have no need for something that big and it is a real state hog. It is on castors, but it's difficult to move when the water pan is full.

I highly recommend the water pan even if it does take time to fill and empty.

I like this Lagmuir system. Can you get it without a base? I'm constantly altering what I got hanging on my table legs.

I'm actually having much more fun learning Fusion 360 than I thought. I had zero CAD abilities before I went down this road 2 years ago.

Learning the CAD software will amaze you what you can do that we used to do with a pencil and a ruler .

I didn't see an option to buy without the base. The water tray is standard. I plan to get the height control. I also plan to put mine on wheels.

The size is definitely a good middle ground. With a roller stand, a 4'x8' sheet can be feed in if needed.

I was in vehicle design at Toyota, but we used Catia and Delmia for our vehicle development needs. Fusion 360 looks easier to use than what we had, so I am hoping for a pretty quick learning curve.

I did try to download Fusion 360 today, but my Windows 7 was a no go, even though Langmuir's website says Win 7 meets system reqs. Guess I'll have to upgrade.

I had to as well. I am loving the rocket speed of the new puter.

I have a Proma THC, but am waiting on my Z axis to show before I can hook it up.

    2 questions

What's better weld on or bolt on sliders?
Weld on seems stronger but bolt on seems nice because it can be removed as a sacrificial piece of armor if it gets damaged/destroyed to replace it, or sell if parting out. But if holes must be drilled, that sounds shitty.
Maybe at some point removal (unbolt) could make access easier it work must be done in that area of the frame. But realistically that probably wouldn't be needed, and at that point welding on sliders could just make them considered part of the frame.

What's the best welding helmet for Tacoma stuff?
I was checking out the ESAB Sentinel. Why?
    -it has 4 sensor
-claims to have a bigger view
-claims to have the most clear view of weld pool
    -Grind Mode button
    -lightweight, comfortable
-looks good (probably matters the least)

    cons:
-replaceable front shields might be pricey
    -helmet itself is pricey
-supposedly the mask is an illusion in that the exterior makes it look like a big view, when in reality the lens inside looking through is not crazy big, and the same exact size/dimensions as any other comparable but cheaper helmet

I mean to compare, the cheaper stuff at Harbor Freight at $50
and the nicer ones around $150
    vs Sentinel = $300+

It seems like quality matters. Because even if you have a good welding machine, using it looking through a dirty sock duct taped over your eyes will still probably result in a garbage weld...

I'm a fan of the HF helmet. You will be knocking it off your head if you are under your truck. You won't care about abusing a $35 lid vs a $300 unit.

Unless you are welding a solid 2hrs a day, you won't notice a difference.

I’ve had a Miller digital elite helmet for years now. Easy to get lenses and batteries last a long time. It’s been knocked off my head or table countless number of times sadly but part of the work

seen sitting in the background just waiting to get knocked off that chair for the millionth time.

New 3/4" rod and 3/4" pipe for pin bushings. Using the rod to keep bushings somewhat true.

Pretty awesome that all I had to do was tell the program that the big hole was 3/4" and the computer created the rest. I copied the original 8 times. Just need to take the G code to the plasma table and load it. I'll have 8 plates in 4 minutes.

Yesterday I pulled the trigger on my order from Langmuir (Crossfire Pro), but I have to wait until July (back ordered) to have this kind of power!
