Not while towing the big trailer. But I can stop for 10 minutes and get another 36 gallons and keep going. The trip takes me about 8 hours.

Can I keep driving while I'm charging? Because like I said above it's an 8 hour trip with zero charging. I only have a week off for this annual trip. I'm not taking half of it to drive and wait for charging.

Battery technology needs to change for me to be involved.

Fueling takes moments. Charging take hours.

Pretty sure the engineers at Ford and other EV mfgs are closely watching this thread because everything they never thought of is being brought up.

Technology never advances beyond the current status quo.

Stick around, you may be surprised. My great grandpa was when gasoline vehicles replaced all his working horses.

That depends entirely on the business. Local deliveries probably wouldn’t, especially if range get extended every time the truck returns to pick up more deliveries. For a long time to come it will be easy to imagine situations that don’t yet readily adapt. Transitioning to ev means filling the roles that you can now while developing what’s needed to fill more tomorrow. Problems with the grid exist regardless of this yet some of the solutions for one will help the other. Not dealing with infrastructure isn’t an option so it shouldn’t be an excuse either.

Already been covered in this thread. Recent charging tech improvements have reduced that time. C'mon fellas, stop relying on outdated info to make these statements as if they were fact and will forever remain so.

Why wouldn't the Tesla owner take their SUV intead of rolling around on the ground trying to fit tire chains?

It hasn't reduced the time enough. For towing heavy in sub-zero temps over a long distance, it's not there yet.

Most charging now with charging points should charge from 20-80% in under an hour. If thats too long then an EV isn't for you. The weather doesn't matter unless you are charging after the vehicle has spent all night in sub zero temps unpluged. In use the batteries are warmed for use and charging.

Hell yeah! Can’t wait to see my new 5T BEV Tacoma with wings and chains and a jacuzzi and the ability to rust out due to corrosion and everything else.

Resistance to change is the essence of conservatism. Their brains just work that way and no amount of cajoling will change that. All you can do is keep going until the new norm replaces the old one and start over with the next change.
