I purchased it and @uurx picked it up for me in Long Island and is holding it until I can get down there to pick it up from him and bring it up to MA in Early June. I will tell you though.......this thing is perfect and is going to be Biblical once it is finished. It might take me a little while to fully build but I will start a Off road trailer build thread once I get it into my possession.

So, you should make a swivel hitch for that thing, would look awesome.

It comes with a pintle hitch so I won't have to.

Holy Fawk! I need to adopt one of you guys that knows how to weld! I was looking at one and I am sure it wasn't as articulating as this and it was $350!

I can't wait to see it after you're done. I want to build one too but I need to be able to haul a dual sport bike in it, under a RTT mounted up top. This one is an excellent starting point because it looks practically brand new and has some great features already. I especially like the long tongue (served that one up for someone). Leaf springs are very nice too. Yea, this is a blank canvas for sure!

You should make us all a swivel hitch Brandon

Oh that's right. A very new one!! I would paint that bitch fluorescent green and wrap it in foam rubber or bubble wrap!!!
Well, you will only forget it's on there one time :angrygirl: after that you will remember. :anonymous: So I wonder how much articulation you get with a pintle hitch? That swivel is a great idea but I don't weld. I hope I will never need to have my off road trailer loaded up for barr at a 45 degree angle either. :cookiemonster:

    Tandem tow the bitches!

Or get one of these things

PS - tandem towing varies in legality by state(s) I think. Know the laws before you do it  but that teardrop w/ a loading ramp should be good to go!

I mean, I could try to put one together that simply bolts together and uses bearings or bushings.

LOLOLOLOL me backing up at the mall, talking to the wifey - "Hey Hon, look, that boat looks just like ours" .

I really like these teardrop trailers but if I was going to go this route I would want something taller. This is a step up from roughing it and I could see myself banging my head no less than 50 times a trip. Also, you still need an outdoor shower, toilet and kitchen. Some have slide-out kitchens but.........this is at least guaranteed dryer and warmer than a nylon tent any day. So then once you get into all that then you're cursing the Taco for being underpowered and then myself for getting rid of my Tundra.

Na, I will stick with a custom built trailer. In the end it might be close to the same amount as buying a bare bones tear drop but will be more versatile for me.

Yea, this guy put a lot of thought and work into his. I just wish I could weld! Maybe it's time for this old man to learn.........I shake so much though so my dimes would be more like when you throw your loose spare change into the ashtray at night before going to bed..........

Didn't you say it was going to be a tent? :D BUT that's why I set up my setup the way that I did instead of a tent, it was just a glorified cab anyway so why not just use mine, it's a lot more secure and comfy :D

If I wanted to travel with me and the wife, the teardrop would be great. But, the smaller setup, the better. The wife hates camping, so it's just me and the dog. Plenty of space in the cab for us, bed can hold the stuff we need for camping or on a road trip, I'm stopping for Brown's in Austin anyway, not bringing food stuffs with me to cook on the side of the road :notsure:

I have considered that but I need to stretch out. I am not very tall but I have some girth to me. My camping cot is a 40" wide Coleman with a 4" thick air mattress. I think a Smittybilt Gen 2 XL with the king size mattress sleeping area is more my speed. The annex would be good for the pooch.

I can't use air, unfortunately. Would solve a lot of problems, I've got a dog that I just know she's puncturing. I just need to get the foam instead of stealing my couch cushions from my wife every weekend I go camping.
