Meso's middle dome light (not the front map lights) will come on when you open the doors just like the factory one.

Finally got around to upgrading my phone mount setup on my Tacoma :)
Ebay Ram clone, made a metal bracket that secures to 2 sides of climate controls trim.

    phoneMT01.jpg

    Seems pretty solid.
    phoneMT02.jpg

The previous CD slot phone-mount that would rattle loose over time.

Alright I am looking to upgrade my speakers in my truck. I was looking at ********* but im not looking to spend $1000 on speakers. And yes I saw the thread with the upgrade for $250, thats looking like my option currently but also thinking of and adding the amp too so looking for any and all suggestions.

I've seen this before but why does it sometimes replace a name of something with a bunch of asterisks?

You should check out the Audio sub-forum... so much good knowledge in there. I did my whole stereo on my own using that sub-forum, and YouTube. I have speakers/tweeters, sub, two amps, crossovers, line out converters, all the wiring, etc. Basically everything but an aftermarket head unit. Your build could be a couple hundred dollars to thousands. If you just go speakers you just need to make sure they don't require more power than the OEM stereo can put out. If you add an amp there may be more work involved with powering it. So, just choices.

    Aux 8-gang switch. It's a no-name panel. I got it for like $50 open box on eBay. It's awesome! Auxbeam_2.jpg FEF_Mar2021.jpg

Threw my buddies 125 in the bed so he could have fun on a trail with me. And did a little minor off-roading. Forgive the portrait orientation, it was originally a Snapchat lol.

    @theolee

Regarding the paint on the side covers near the head unit, what sheen did you use?
    Matte, Satin? Rustoleum, Krylon?

I ask because I just shot my 10-year-old yard lights with a Krylon FLAT coffee rattle-can. They are satin to semi-gloss at best. Wrote Krylon and they said yes, issue with that line of paint and sent me two cans of another line. I want a matte to flat finish, similar to your pics.
    Thanks

I have a Dasaita head unit installed in my 2013. Tell me the app you used and I'll be glad to download it and give you the temps I'm running for comparison.

FWIW - when I was using the wireless carplay with this unit, both the radio and the iphone ran extremely hot. I was also using a wireless charging cradle for the iphone while in use so that may also have contributed. When I use the iphone as a WiFi access point it will get warm but not as hot as when used in carplay mode.

    Some comparisons:
    Dual Xeon CPU E5-2630L v2 @ 2.40GHz running unRaid shows 35C and 36C
    ASUS Router passive cooled BCM470x - Cortex A7 ARMv7 shows 39C
Raspberry Pi running Pihole shows 39C
