Did you and @Windigo replace the paper gasket under the shifter?

    Toyota PN 3634535050

We are putting it together tonight, and I didnt want to put RTV on that. On final assembly after testing we may if its a problem.

    *Edit*
The paper gasket goes under the breather splash protector in the pic on top of the round cut out.

Is this for just the four screws on the connector? Just need a longer M3 screw, M3 nut, and thick washer to draw it in. Turn the nut while holding the screw still. There are a few Youtube videos on DIY rivnut tools.

Or just use self-tappers since it's so tiny

but i bought a box of stainless steel rivnuts i wanted to try out!

but yeah that'll be my best bet so i might just do that. basically a rubber washer, 2 washers, a nut and a longer M3 bolt.

just need to find a lon 3M bolt now...

Watch the Youtube video I posted. Rubber washer isn't really necessary. Just grease the threads in the M3 nut and the top face of the washer.

It's a good setup for tight areas, needing only about 3-4" of clearance above the rivnut to work.

i'll still need a new M3 bolt to remotely try this. Which is a lot easier said than done because for the stupid lock down and i can't just walk into Crappy tire to grab a single bolt.
but need to order online, if i could even find one, and then wait 90 minutes for a single bolt....

What size do you need? I have some ME SHCS and BHCS kicking around.

Also with the stainless riv nuts, recommend against using stainless bolts or if you do judicious amounts of antisieze.

When you open the window, it is allowing the pressure from under the truck to be pushed up and out the window bringing the fumes with it.

Seal that bitch up and it should go away.

Thanks for the info both you and @tacoma16

you laugh but i did in fact go through my computer hardware pile...
    :bananadead:

also i don't own any self tappers.
i use standard 3" wood screws for everything

    I need an M3 one.
i have the entire rainbow of bits, i just happened to snap the bit last night from over torque(?)-ing it. i just need this thing to stay down when i pull up on the connector, so i think i'll benefit from not using antisieze after i'm done with fitment

What I meant to ask was what length do you need? I can look to see what I have when I get back from getting dental implant. I think I have M3x10mm FHCS and M3x25mm BHCS kicking around.

With the anti seize, it's important going in too. SS on SS can gall and cold weld just being run in leaving a half threaded in screw that's siezed in place.

m3x25 might work, but it also might be a few threads short.
the ones i have are 10mm already.

So did the dentist end up using M3x10mm or M3x25mm in your jawbone?

    It's more of a tapered m3 helicoil.
    IMG_20210520_124322.jpg

Unfortunately all I can find are some M3x10mm SHCS SS. Bolts plus on Nebo is great tho for random grabs. Way better than Fastenone in my experience. Spaenuar in Kitchener is great too if your in the area.
