Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

Well I have now read through the entire thread from start to finish. What a journey, a lot of unique skills and expertise going on here. This SUA kit addresses the problems I’ve had with a lot of other SUA kits because of the inverted shackle. So I might have to refresh the rear of my truck in a few years.

After trading a few PMs with Harry, I’m gonna jump on some 934s CVs to run with this 2+ kit @Evenflow took off his truck to go 4+. My trucks a low speed crawler, so the extra articulation is going to be nice. My stock length setup and how I wheel tends to eat up CVs. Looking forward to not having to worry about them.

 

I've been following this thread for 3 years and finally have gotten to a point where I can fit some 35. I have superbumps all around and am more setup for droop in the rear (eyelet converted bilstein 15" collapsed/27" extended).

No rub at full lock and I can still turn aggressively. May need to trim some more in the rear but overall the new setup feels great.

Yes sir.. welded it up last summer. Added some tweaks of my own as well. Planning on doing the HC rear soon as well.

 

Damn, just caught up on this thread since I'm joining the GB. Right now I'm hoping the JD kit helps my rubbing by moving the LCA and tire forward. Right now I have caster maxed out and I rub on the inside part of the LCA on both sides.

 

@81Trekker any plans for a stock width LCA?

 

He’s said multiple times in here that’s a no. Pretty sure he hasn’t changed his mind.

 

Never will as there is no point. The 2.25 kit with inset wheels gives the same effect with more travel

No point because the goal is just to increase travel? I don't want to go LT just want some upgraded LCA. Im happy with my mid travel kit and cant justify going LT and completely redoing my setup. Thought id just check before i bought another arm since yall seem to have great products.

 

I’m not speaking for him but it’s a why, what’s the point of the stock lower for as strong as it is for a mid travel setup. If you need more strength then might as well go long travel. Fabricated stock length arms don’t really make sense in the first place unless you just want bling bling and have money to waste. And at that AGAIN, get long travel.

 

Following this thread for 3 yrs I think you meant to post that in the intro to 35s thread.... anyways nice looking truck. The products in this thread will help you fitting those 35s even better and there is a GB going on.

If you're rubbing on the LCA I'd look at your wheel specs too

 

Yea not really trying to go LT and spend 6-8k and wait over a year for coilovers when i could spend a grand and be happy. Strength Ground clearance main factors.

 

This. My 35s will kill the ball joints and bushings on cheap aftermarket lcas, then oem are over $400 each. Then who knows how long they will last.

 

Yea i plan on putting 37's on my truck at some point down the road so im starting to beef and reinforce everything now.

 

@eimkeith has some gussets for stock LCAs coming out soon, just weld those on and swap in some whiteline bushings, it'll be plenty strong. Makes way more sense than $1200+ on a stock length arm.

 

Well, if you already have UCAs, coilovers, trash your stock lowers, and don't want to drop $5k for LT and the width, it makes lots of sense. Maybe its not for you, doesn't mean it isn't right for others.

Or you could sell your mid travel stuff buy an LT kit for $3500, CVJ axles for $400 and get Fox coilovers in 14-16 weeks

 

Stock length LCAs from the aftermarket actually have less ground clearance than your OEs do.
