Fuck Jeeps. Fuck Jeeps. Fuck Jeeps.

Said it before and will continue til the end of time. Worked on my best friend's Jeep today doing a lift kit. Their suspension systems are so bass ackwards. 7 hours to do leaf springs and shocks in the rear.

    Never again. No thanks.

    Fuck Jeeps.

Not that it matters overall, but what type of jeep was it?

    Big things are coming...

Got everything organized for the coming mod day. When I was going through the bin, I realized that some of the items in there have been hoarded for 2.5-3 years..

    WILD.

whatever you do, dont use a chainsaw to cut the lower control arm bolts! LOL. buy some good carbide sawzall blades, makes a world of difference cutting out the old LCAs.

I was gathering my tools to being to my buddy's weekend and I found some and three them in the bin. Had to use one last weekend to cut a shackle bolt on my buddy's Jeep. Like a hot knife through butter.

I have plenty of wheels and discs.

Really nervous about heading into the unknown with this "project". Lots to do. Luckily I have two days if I need it. I just need to get it done and aligned before Monday. Glad to have a few buddies that should make it go more quickly. We can hopefully get both sides going at the same time.

Just nervous about the LCAs, getting it aligned and the knuckles and wheel bearings. The swaybar mounts shouldn't be too bad. Just worried about being able to mount the reservoir brackets. I can cut the swaybar off if push came to shove. Everything else should be cake.

If you eyeball the alignment and have it done before Saturday I MAY be able to align it after work Saturday.

But I’m a drive for you.

    I appreciate that.

Last year, before my road trip, I snagged the lifetime alignments from Firestone. There's one 10 minutes from me and one 10 minutes from my buddy. The only issue is that not all locations have the plates that wrap around the wheels. Going to call both locations tomorrow and confirm they have the plates I need.

Yea we’ve got the heads that clamp onto the tire. Seems to work well for all the DSI trucks we get. But the Firestone deals the best bang for the bucks unless you’ve got access to a rack like me

That's what I figured as well. I was toying around with the idea for so long and I just pulled the trigger.

    Just hoping everything goes smoothly.

you should be fine. Just go slow, don’t rush the cutting. And LOAD THAT BOLT AND ECCENTRIC CAM WITH ANTI SEIZE.

I bought a whole 'nother bottle of anti-seize for those bitches alone. Glad I did too because I'm down to half a bottle and that's no where near enough for 4 bolts...

Well, things went sort of to plan and sort of not to plan:

    3E7E65F2-C9EF-4666-AF18-16C2F15394FD.jpg

    - New LCAs in.
    - new shocks in.
    - swaybar off. Party time engaged.

    What's needed next:

    - bushing for the knuckles
    - ABS sensor
    - clean up and paint BAMF LCA skids

    Then I can install:

    - knuckles
    - new wheel bearings
    - new dust shield
    - BAMF LCA skids with new stainless hardware

    Summary:

    - Absolutely SHOCKED and beyond stoked the swaybar bolts came off. I need to look at removing the swaybar relocation brackets.

    - should have done more research on the knuckles and what was needed.

    - OME shock top bolts were rusted and busted when I tried to remove them. Had to cut them. The rear bolt nearest the engine bay SUCKED butt.

    Glamour shots:

Came home and realized the driver's dust shield was rubbing the edge of the brake rotor.

Today was a great start to THREE YEARS in the making.........

Firestone first thing in the morning for an alignment.

Thanks man. Yes it was nice to have an easy fix after a long day.

Anxious to get this alignment. Might go to a meet up at a local mall if I can get this alignment done first thing.

Think it's going to be a good day.

Hope to remove the kings stickers on the reservoirs to match the rears too. Might do that today also.
