So since this is a Pennsylvania thread thought I'd ask. About to be doing a cross country road trip from Oregon looking for a new place to live/home to buy. How's the area surrounding Pittsburgh? There's tons of cheap housing out there and I hear Pitts is pretty awesome. Any input? Any specific area's I should check out? There a fair amount of wilderness to be explored? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

It depends on many factors. there are some nice areas outside of the city. Are you looking for suburbs, small town, or rural area? Do you want to have quick access to the city, or are you looking to enjoy the outdoors? What is your budget for a residence? I have lived in the area all my life and have been around and seen just about the entire metro area.

Looking for small town or rural, quick access for me is anywhere within a couple hours. I'm used to driving long distances for work so driving 2 hours to go spend time in the city isn't an issue at all. Of course I'd like to be close to at least decent stores, grocery and otherwise. Budget is 200k. Outdoors is a major bonus, quick access to trails/camping/trees in general is probably more important than being close to city. That being said I'm super flexible. As long as there's restaurants and grocery stores I'll be able to find work (job is repairing commercial kitchen equipment)

The fastest growing county in the area is Butler county. Moraine State Park is there, along with McConnell's Mill. Cranberry is a huge (too huge) shopping area with everything. From there you can get to some nice places in Mercer, Venango, Clarion or Jefferson. Those are real nice for the outdoors. A small town in the area is Zelienople. The area around Cranberry has gotten expensive, but the further out you go, the more reasonable - for the most part. Slippery Rock is another small town in Butler and across the county line is Grove City.

About the bars, well... Something about one being possibly easier than the other... but tbh, I'm not 100% sure, so I'll stop right there.
I picked this one because a) can back up with it; b) can take it off pavement, 3) it is supposed to be quiet, and it is. It is heavy af though

As for your previous question, I've seen someone write that if asked, dealer would give/provide a pigtail for brake controller. Now, since it sounds like a cool story and I don't have a good relationship with my local dealership, I've decided to simply order one. So, there is that

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians! It's Friday!!!!!

Heading out to help out with a fundraiser sporting clays shoot this morning. Might have a chance for some aroma therapy.

Lynn and I got our first swim of the year yesterday. The pool looks awesome...water temp was 80 so it was a bit chilly but still nice to get the season started this early.

Our contractor got a start on re-working the greenhouse that was hit by the falling tree. He had some days this week - has another job next week and then back to us - so he was able to get the roof repairs done, get the new skylight in and begin tp put in the new windows. We put new double hung windows in the front but the other three sides will have 4 clear polycarbonate sheets that will be framed in. The shingles get delivered today so he'll get the roof complete and the last poly window in. We decided to re-roof the tractor garage that's next to the greenhouse, too, since we are going to re-skin it as well.

Looks like it will be a great weekend - maybe a thunderstorm in the afternoons. Enjoy and be safe!

It went ok, just a little swelling by the end of the day. Flagged some and some one armed brush chipping:rofl: I just can't stand around when other people working but didn't do anything stupid. But thanks for asking. Getting a little more movement back as they days go on, next week can start working on strengthening at physical therapy

Good morning all and happy Friday! I get my second vaccine shot this afternoon, Moderna. Hoping for little to no reaction this time. My reaction to the first dose was actually pretty brutal. It hit me worse than when I'd had Covid. Hoping I got all that over with on the first round. Didn't make any real plans for this weekend just in case.

    Friday!

took off today so I could get the windows installed in the barn apartment. If that goes well I’ll move on to cabinets.

Getting my chickens out to pasture this weekend as well...still gotta build their enclosure.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I got my second Pfizer on Wednesday. I had the flu symptoms; soreness, slight fever, and a pissed off lymph node. Lymph node is less angry this morning.

I was supposed to get my second Moderna dose last Wednesday but rescheduled it. We were leaving Thursday for a motorcycle trip to Ohio and I just wasn't taking the chance on having a reaction 300+ miles from home and on the bike. Hoping this time my reaction is none or minimal but I left my weekend wide open just in case. I have a lot I'd like to get done but afraid to get too into a project then have it hit me.
