I traded in a dark blue 2015 BMW 328xi. Great car, but I’m a Toyota 4x4 fan so here we are! :)

It was getting long of tooth. But that adjustable ride height air suspension is the cat's meow for "seasonal travel" Think MUD season. and think 2 feet of snow overnight season.

I wish the tonka truck had air lift ride height on all four corners.

Traded in a '14 Charger AWD (pentastar motor, not the hemi). Only had 51k miles when I traded it. I loved that car, but so far I love my Taco more, even if the kiddo legroom is less.

Blew out both knees. Hurt to much trying to drive my 14 Corolla even after surgery. Had to get a Tacoma that was easier to get in and out of.
Wanted one anyway before the knees blew out. Now I had an excuse.

Doesn't help that most cool cars depreciate (like my prior one) depreciate like a brick.

The older I get the more I worry about losing money and reliability concerns. That being said, my mid life crisis goal is to keep my taco and have a project car on the side.

That's a good goal. Mine is to get a garage so I can start doing my own work on the more in-depth stuff rather than pay someone else, and it'd be nice to have a semi-DD semi-project car to "practice" on rather than the Taco I want to keep mint.

X2. Values don't hold like they used to unfortunately, but I do enjoy buying used luxury cars at a cheap price!

My buddy had a 2013 I believe Dodge Dart and it was the biggest POS I’ve seen. It consumed so much oil, had to replace engine at about 10k miles. Also had electrical problems and sometimes the car just stalled for no reason. It drove nice though.

Hell yeah, the STi was way faster than a street car needs to be, and it would do it 24/7/365 if you get some good snow tires (depending on your location of course). It was great! They'll be updating it in a year or two, supposedly with ~400HP to keep up with the competition. I definitely recommend it! Even the 'regular' WRX is fast and fun, but a little bit more tame and fragile (debatable) than the STi.

This. Wait for the next gen which is rumored to have 400hp, built on the FA24 engine block which currently powers the Subaru Ascent (260hp/270tq). STI will have some different internals and a turbo so its definitely possible. The FA series of engines have less weak links than the current gen EJ in the STI.

Source: I owned a 400hp/450tq STI and it was basically maxed out at that point unless you want to drop the engine and install internals. New engine shouldn't have to come apart for 450+ tq lol.

I miss the handling of the thing more than the straight line acceleration. Problem with that car was that it was never fast enough.

2017 Jeep Renegade - bought new and it suffered from the oil burning situation that some of these 2.4 Tigershark engines are experiencing. Had a whole new engine replaced at 40k miles, warranty was good until 60k so I drove it until 55k and got the Taco. I was too afraid to driving it out of warranty and having another major issue with it, wanted something reliable where major issues like this are the exception, not the class action lawsuit norm.

And those are Method 701s on Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires.
