Faster accelerating or faster top speed?
    How are you measuring "faster"?
How much does each of them weigh?

My 2021 is not a speed demon. I had gotten a couple of speeding tickets in my 2019 Highlander.
Same Engines and different gear ratios (FWD 8 speed Automatic in Highlander)!

    Tacoma OR DCLB 4425 pounds
Highlander SE 4310 pounds (the irony is 5840 gross, it could carry 1500 pounds)

My Highlander was much more nimble in traffic, better acceleration, and just felt faster. I got about 10% better mileage.

Meanwhile, I've added a rock slider (140#), Skids (60#), RSI Smart cap (240#). Gear, etc, and I'm over 5000 pounds rolling down the road. Ya might skip the RTT (air mattress in the bed to save weight).

Big difference between “faster” and “quicker “.

You need your butt dyno calibrated. Same engine. Same gearing. Same truck. Sure, the pro is a bit heavier but not enough to make more than a few hundredths of a second 0-60 and nobody's ass is that good..

The non-functioning hood scoop on the 2017 sport is non-functioning less than the non-functioning scoop on the 2021 pro.

All i can comment is my 2020 sr5 access cab is quite a bit quicker from 45 mph on up than a buddies 2019 trd or. When he's following me, and i nail mine to the floor at that speed it just scoots away and keeps pulling. As far as off from a dead start its a lot closer. His truck has a double cab, but i've got more junk in mine. Hearing this, i can't help to think these trucks can't be tuned all alike.

Looks like on paper the PRO might outweigh the Sport by 100lbs, depending on a variety of factors, but for the sake of argument, let's say 100lbs.
That roughly equates to what would theoretically be just over one tenth of a second in the 0-60.

In what is the Tacoma's roughly 7 second 0-60 time, that would be 1/70th "faster"
I'm not sure there's a butt dyno in the country that can pick up 1/70th.

The Pro just needs to be broken in IMO.

In the beginning of every launch there is always some wasted energy that gets transferred to suspension compression/axle wrap. Ride a hardtail bicycle vs a full suspended mountain bike and you can feel just how much energy gets soaked up in the springs.

However, once the suspension is compressed (and to a smaller degree, tires), the power gets laid down to the ground.

Thats why the stiffer Sport feels different to your butt-dyno: less power is wrapped up in the elastic parts than if it were an OR or Pro.
