vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

Are they available for more ECU versions? The 0420/30 tables? Some ECU versions don't have the tables

 

This is news to me and I’m sure others. It would be helpful if these rules were clearly spelled out.

It is not my intention to be a jerk here. I am just pointing out that it’s very difficult to know what the “rules” are. Also, how are we supposed to know if someone has a master tune pack when they sell tunes? Are those tunes allowed to be resold? Again, not trying to be difficult here, some of these “unwritten rules” need to be clarified.

 

New version releases in about 20 mins.

note- if your old version tells you to update, it will only do that this one time. Future versions you won't have to.

- flasher VFT option
- logger fix/ update (lite license)
- EROM Version 2 patch for 04B04 ECU is available (for testing out). All other ECUs will be in 1.3.0
- 2D graphing fix
- Negative numbers on axis fix
- several other useful changes

 

People have been reselling tunes from tune packs this whole time. As is or edited.



The rules for VF Tuner are in the terms/tos that you click "agree" when installing. I will try to get things cleared up on the site.



a "simplified" version is

1. Don't create a derivative
2. Don't try to hack the software
3. Don't try to cheat the credit system / licensing
4. Don't sell P5F files. <<<<<<< this is the reason the flasher / sw was updated and old flash tools are no longer usable

 

@OVTune any kind of timeline put together on when we would receive credits instantly after purchasing?

Automatic Credits will come with Version 1.3.0. I like to say to plan on two days for Credit purchases, but they tend to come a lot faster than that.

 

Yeah I've seen anywhere from a couple weeks on one guy to around an hour once for myself lol

@OVTune - I have the 04B04 calibration unlocked but this 'test' patch is requiring me to use 4-credits to unlock. Is that correct? ...I missed that credits would be needed.

 

All VF Lite Master keys have been emailed out. Please check your email, and please be sure to be on the latest version.

Yea this is why I want to migrate to my forum only. EROM files with custom patches have unique IDs that require 1 time unlocks. I talked about this some time ago, it always gets lost in the threads.





Pro Tuner remote kit packages are expected to be on the site this weekend.
Some pro tuners have asked about offering larger credit bundles for bigger discounts, we are considering this.

 

Thanks for the confirmation, but since it's for testing (initially on this ECU) I was hoping it was an error and I didn't have to pay to try it out. It would be nice to have something for folks like me that can't be Pro Tuners .. unless I can buy into that and gain some incentives.

the patch file / definitions / etc are all finished, it's a ready to go release version. But since not all ECUs are in it / updated to 1.3.0, we put it in there for 04B04 folk to test out ahead of time. The IDs will still be the same / require the same when all are available.

 

Gotcha - so it is a patch but it will apply to all. When I unlock for 04b04 it will be unlocked for ANY ECU because it's the patch I am unlocking. SO I just need to pull $80 outta the mattress.

EDIT: can someone point me to info on how the patch integrates into my tune? Doc or line of text or two on how it works. Do I need to create a new tune or just save an existing one? For the cost I need some education please. (even a VFforum link works)

 

In the VF Tuner installation folder, there is a folder called "resources" inside is a PDF with all the patch info you'll need


Edit ** super important. Don't just flash the patch as is. You need to tune it.

I’ve ran tunes since 1.03 in 2017 and both @PapaRee tunes and @Mooseditty17 tunes are spectacular. I actually preferred Mooseditty’s latest daily special tune for my truck and how it drives. It behaves differently than KDMax, which is a great tune, but KDMax is just not for me.

That being said, I have been testing @DownhillDragon PowerThirst tune and I have to admit it is a VERY nice tune. So far the power is there, the mpgs are some of the highest I’ve seen and the temps are low. Towing with it is optimized in ECT and it does very well. Shifting is also very smooth.

I recommend people try it (if he’s willing to give it out of course).

I still really enjoy Mooseditty’s daily special tune for raw power and amazing highway performance. I’ve never been able to hold 80 mph with 17mpg so well, ever.

right now, for me, these two have been basically the best so far.
