Just got my truck and seats smell horrid. Tried everything. Stuff in a can does not work well. So I tried washing the seats with my Bissell 1400m, made it better but I can still smell the moldy stuff. So I decided to pull the seats apart and machine wash the seat covers and used my carpet machine on.

Alright, out with the Denso 105 (going to a buddy that is running a regular battery) and in with the CS144 alternator. Runs at about 14.4 at idle and 14.7 driving I think the AGM battery will like those number more. B857B358-2AE8-47A8-B717-B22CE0B3B88F.jpg

Did you have issues with the factory alternator and AGM battery?

I did not. But also didn’t have it very long. Research shows that agm batteries like higher charging voltages 14.5-15 V otherwise over time you slowly wear it down

I know this is a topic somewhat akin to the LBJ debate, but Northstar says that 14.1V is fine for charging... I know you were dropping lower than that at times, but the stock alt (at least for me) gives me that 14.1 (or higher) whenever the battery needs it.

I guess I’d rather be on the high side of the range rather than the bare minimum. So 14.6/14.7 is pretty ideal.

I can say the 105 Denso was giving me 14.2 pretty consistently while driving. But would drop to 12.9 at idle.

AC WENT OUT a month ago,
The shop said it needed a new compressor and would end up costing around 1000.00 for labor and a dryer and I buy the compressor.

My luck day, I ordered a new compressor 150 -175 shipped and after taking the old clutch out of the old compressor while still in the truck I found it was destroyed and the bearing for the pulley was in piece too. I took the 2 new parts from the new compressor and 3 hours in I’m done and it works perfectly again,
Just saved 850.00, I bought a new compressor thinking I needed it so all the parts I needed were on hand
    IT AN EASY JOB

I'm confused a bit lol. Was the new compressor $150? The $1000 quote for compressor and labor?

No, yes, he said around 1000 for the work but could be more,
The last time I had the compressor replaced was about 6 years ago 150k miles ago.
I bought a new compressor for 150-175 and he installed it and a new dryer,
He changed me 800.00 back then for the install plus dryer, flushing, new fluids etc.
Bottom line yes it cost me almost 1000.00 out of my pocket.
This go around my system is still sealed, no leaks and I have easy access to the front off the compressor, so the new parts Lucky were the exact same off the new compressor,
So my cost this time was the 150-175 or so just because I bought a complete compressor.
3 hours messing with it and moving the power steering lines and running to the auto parts store and 26.00 for a new AC belt and a 90 degree ring clip grip jaw tool

I've had my Primeweld Cut60 for over 2 yrs now and used it a lot. No issues. Only time I called customer service was on Sunday afternoon of the week I got it. Call was answered immediately. I think the guy was at home, but still got the answer I needed. It's US based support, so no accents to deal with.

CNC capability and the 3yr warranty was a big reason I bought Primeweld. That includes shipping to/from if you have to send it back for any reason. Everybody else was 2yrs or less w/o shipping included. I figured they must be pretty confident.

If its the clutch or pulley bearing or both like mine its an easy job to do IF you have the parts on hand.

Well I was greasing up my SPC UBJs the other day and I ended up breaking off the zirc fitting to one of them and now the new grease is oozing back out. I don’t think I need to be worried??

The joint isn't sealed in general - so from that perspective, you're fine. You should still extract the remainder of the zerk and replace it.

You can probably reverse engineer the zerk you need to purchase once you extract the threads, or you can email SPC; they have great customer service and replaced a zerk for me when I broke it on the trail. They obviously sent 'the correct one,' hahahaha.

Changed out to the O'Reilley heavy duty long travel CV axles, replaced both oil seals, replaced my needle bearing with the ECGS version.

Thanks to @jmferg and @Kristi with a K for the ECGS tools to do that part of the job.
