Yeah, i did that trail last year, and i think it should be classified as a 3 instead of a 2+. Specially because there isnt much of a option when crossing the river ledge boulders. I did it pretty well but hit with the front hook.
On that Ledge you did on the video, a Jeep that was going with us broke a drive shaft.

I bought the in Reach Garmin explorer + just a few weeks ago. it was 150$ off. It works fine, it takes a bit to send and receive messages, normal when using satellite, but it works.
I asked a bunch of guys in my facebook group and one of them that has a SPOT advised me to get the inreach Garmin because of the better Iridium network reach (Some guys in Canada and Europe complain about the SPOT satellite network). I was looking to buy the mini, but when the Explorer + came down 150$, i opted for that for the extra features too.
I bought InREach it mainly to allow me to go to anywhere in Canada , including TUK (NWT) , and be reached by my family. For that , it's best to have access to the Iridium network like Inreach and Zoleo, etc...
I also thought about Zoleo, but their plans are more expensive and i like the fact that i do not need the cell phone to be able to use it. My cell battery is not the greatest, and i really want the GPS to serve as a safety device/urgent communication.
In the end, it depends what you are looking for , when, where and how you want to use it.

Awesome! Did pull the trigger on the inreach mini yesterday. The plans between that and the spot are mostly a wash for my needs. The couple extra device dollars tho are worth the slight network robustness and send confirmation which was the deciding factor for me and seems to be the overwhelming feedback.

Awesome, mines been bullet proof 5he last two years, rain every use too.

Been itching to do mine too. I should have two years ago. You can buy the 3 parts off Amazon but it's so overpriced, however with homed pots being closed and other shit just so hard to get to at times, the amazon tax seems like the quickest way it'll get done for me.

They say it's "on sale" but it's been $399 for almost 2 years. It's still a great price, don't get me wrong.
