I still have a hopper full of cherry pellets to burn through but I grabbed a bag of Pit Boss Competition pellets from Walmart last night.

Traeger from Costco - 20 pounds for $18
Pit Boss from Walmart - 40 pounds for $15

    Hopefully they don't suck.

    A thing or two...
Part of my relocation package was a massive chunk of change for buying a house within 1 yr of relocating. I used part of it to pay off my student loans, but it was only a few grand.

Let us know how the other pellets are once you’ve gone through them!

I’ve only used the signature blend from Costco myself.

I had the Pit Boss Competition a while back. Not too bad. Just picked up some Hickory earlier this year for a classic smoke. While I was there I saw this charcoal infused version. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pit-Boss-All-Natural-Barbecue-Hardwood-Charcoal-Pellets-20-Lb/467052299 Definitely going to try this out next time.

Nope, I make scientific glassware mainly for laboratory use. I could make one, but I never have. Something like that would be a lot easier to make from borosilicate glass which I have almost no experience working with, we work with fused quartz glass which is kind of a specialty.

I contemplated emptying out the hopper to try the Pit Boss pellets out sooner but I'm lazy. You may have talked me into it, though.

Something smoking while I'm working on the patio this weekend sounds like a great idea, too. :D

I was reading somewhere that someone had issues with the charcoal pellets, something about them being too hard. I think he ended up mixing them 60/40 with wood pellets to use them up. Might just have been a one-off for that guy, though.

That's awesome, my dad is friends with a career neon worker and I had a lot of fun touring his shop.

Knowing the guy, he probably would give me some but I wouldn't take it.

    Unless he insisted

Can’t fault ya for that, I wouldn’t feel like it either

There’s a empty port on the hopper if you do decide to go for it. Then you’ll just have to use up the pellets in the auger tube, which I think is roughly 10 minutes on high to consume.
