How many miles are on your truck and did you jump it or did that happen at a dead stop? Welcome to TW and we need some more information.

the upper control arm ball joint that is still attached to the spindle looks pretty dry and pitted. Looks like that boot gave up a long time ago and never got addressed. I hope no one was hurt.

Oof. If the knuckle is still straight, getting the ball joint separated will be tough. Sorry to see that OP.

First of all, the "tire" did not fall off. The upper ball joint failed (because it was worn out and dry) and when it failed, the steering knuckle and everything connected to it (wheel, tire, etc.) broke away. When that happened, it tore your axle shaft apart. Yes, you have a real mess there. I'd bet the lower ball joint is now junk too - along with a bunch of other stuff.

Getting the axle off the wheel bearing without it on the truck is gonna be a pain in the ass as well

Not really. Since the axle shaft is junk, you can just hold it with a pipe wrench to remove the axle nut. Have the wheel bearings been replaced yet?

Good. I was wondering since it will be real easy to get to when you're fixing this carnage.

Was your frame replacement less than a yr?
When I fought with Toyota I was told work done by the dealer was 12 month warranty.
When my frame was done they did new lca ball joints and bushings.
They made no effort to save original stuff.
