Hard to see navigation screen in the sun

Hello everyone does anyone know or has some kind of a visor for the screen it’s very hard for me to see when it gets dusty and the sun hits it or if there’s a thread here somewhere??? I have a pic to see what I’m talking about
But it has to look cool and flip
Not trying to look like an election booth

 

Thanks, you stirred the pot and I too hate this design flaw. I'll send you my homemade solution mocked up in cardboard and soon to me in Kydex. It is kinda voter booth but? it works and is easily moveable.

 

I took some 1/8" ply/veneer and made a visor. One end into the CD slot.
It was two pieces and I glued the two halves together... I'm also a woodworker.

could use a piece of kydex also...

I built a similar one using Kydex. Easy to bend and mold to shape and very reasonably priced.

Dont know if would work with stock stereo but this slips into gap were HU slips into dash kit.

 

You’d kinda figure that the Tall Forheads that test this stuff would figure No matter what you spend it all goes in the same way. My Pioneer 4200NEX has a tilt button to fine tune the screen angle. Problem is the bracket from the install kit is all Wrong so that tilt function remains useless. You’d figure rather than give colour choices the bracket guys would give you mounting depth choices for specific set ups. Sure that’s expensive to stock but unless it fits Right the rest is kinda useless, wouldn’t y’all say?

Its just carbon fiber wrap . Just need to bent metal to shape and wrap.

 

I hated this about my OEM stereo. My newer pioneer aftermarket unit has same issue but only when my headlights are on and the unit dims a little.

 

Mine vanished once I slapped on the Raybans. Time to re-engineer the bracket to work With the tilt function instead of against it.

 

I thought it was my aging eyes. A bit of dust on the screen and it is tough to read. I would also like to change the color of the ilumination on the knobs to red. I have to take my sunglasses off to read them.

 

Switched mine to Red. Kinda partial to that colour myself.

 

exactly. With sunglasses I couldn’t see a thing on the screen. Really bad design. After 5 years I finally replaced it and it’s much better but not perfect.

 

If it is good enough for aircraft interior, it is good enough for me.

 

Gets a ‘lil Crazy sometimes.
