Wheeler by day, camper at night LOL! The SP handled Moab so far with no issues. We only did Long Canyon, Fins & Things, Baby Lion’s Back, Hell’s Revenge, Box Car Loop and Kamikaze trails this time around since we were pressed on time. I’m sure majority of you will just use it for camping and forest roads but it’s good to know it can take the abuse from off cambered trails that make you flex really bad. The tent did however hit the Prinsu rack on rare occasions when it would flex really bad but no damage besides scratches on the rack which I don’t mind at all. We’ve also been in crazy dusty roads and there’s minimal dust in the camper. Not sure if I sealed my bed really good or the SP is sealed really good or maybe even both LOL. On another note the Renogy 100W flexible solar panels and my Goal Zero Yeti 1000 has been an awesome combo as far as power. I used the Goal Zero at night to run my fridge and then use the AC outlet during the day to run my fridge while we’re out exploring (still waiting on my Blue Seas panel so I can run my fridge on that via DC). In the meantime while we are out exploring my goal zero is being charged by the solar panels and hits 100% by midday. Way faster than having just one 100W panel like I used to have.

glade to see this, i plan to hit up Moab this year hopefully. i just completed a large amount of bed sealing this week still need to do my tailgate planning on take the camper out this Sat for a 1 night test run. i need to figure out how i want my solar to run. debating swapping out my Bluesea ACLR controller on my Dual batteries for a Redarc so can run solar to it or just buying a controller and running it with what I have.

Good to know. I was worried about flex as well. Ours will definitely be wheeled.. lol I'll just cut the rack a little shorter. Thought about adding some edge trim to the cut edges too to help with that possible rubbing scenario.

Yeah I think the rivets vs welds helps out a lot with the flexing. Well at least that’s my thinking lol!

Just got back from a short trip, and I really want to add some interior lights and see if I can get something like that ShittCo awning hack.

As to the interior lights, what are people here using? Also, didn't I see a post a while back where someone put together a string of lights made just for the SP?

As to the awning hack, do I really need to wait for ShittCo to get around to making some more? Are there alternatives? Seems pretty simple.

    Thanks.

Well... just camped in below-40 degree weather and this didn't work so well. Bottom line, not big enough. Shoulda known. I suppose if there was a way to secure the foot end it would be OK above 40 or for cool summer eves. Thought I'd post an update.

I plan to just keep using my USB LED string lights. Picked em up years ago.. the basic copper wire style.

    These..

New guy here. Deposit on SPX1! I looked through the thread and couldn’t find anything so I apologize if it’s already been answered but suspension upgrade for SP? I’m getting a 2021 dclb OR. Do I need rear suspension help? Sumos or an extra leaf? Thanks this thread sold me on Super Pacific.

the next question would be what type of camping and or trails do you like to do? Stock leafs will support it but over time they may wear out. Really depends how you build it out.

Fire roads/forest service roads no heavy crawling or anything sketchy. Keeping truck mostly stock. No winch or steel bumpers. Just me the wife and the 95# shepherd. Very light build out as most of the time the bed will be empty.

You should be totally fine with stock suspension in that case. If it does sag a bit over time, a simple add a leaf will suffice.

BUT, hit enough rough roads for a while, and you may eventually end up looking for a lift, skids, etc... At least that's kinda how it's worked out for me.

I’m sorry if I missed it in the previous posts but is anyone running a 270 awning?
