Picked up another bag of the wally world fruit pellets for the pooper. Seemed like the last bag went really quick. Going to start a picnic pork tonight and let it go overnight.

Speaking of grill grates, the last time I did a butt on the pooper it stuck to the grates pretty good. Hopefully that is not an issue this time.

Little baby pork shoulder (about 4 pounds) is marinating in the fridge, rub is mixed up to go on in the morning and I'm going to try switching out the Traeger cherry pellets for Pit Boss competition pellets.

Smoked to 150 degrees, covered in an aluminum tray and slathered in oil, left until 203.

Got a 15 hour smoke going on right now. Stall broke a couple of hours ago. Finally up to about 190, but I'd like it to get over 200.

Heading to a friends house for a few drinks so I fired up the smoker.
Smoked wings, smoked pork loin dip and stuffed sweet peppers with crab meat. BBB5CF91-8B57-4519-BE33-827663BD9E35.jpg642C299C-4FB3-4F3C-82F1-4BF237315B8D.jpg9133F51D-2B77-418F-9597-32A1FDC736C4.jpg

Mississippi pot roast has turned into one of my favorites. So easy yet takes pot roast to a whole new level when smoked.

That's why I only made the little 4 pounder. It's only 2 of us eating it.

    It’s actually funny story

for a while I knew this weekend I had a tacomaworld mini gathering type of thing and also we were thinking plans with the wife’s family Sunday. So between the two of those and wanting some for myself, two butts needed. I forgot that wife’s family plans never materialized so even Thursday as I’m getting the butts at the store I’m still thinking “yeah I need two” and then once they were both on the smoker and I didn’t have room for anything else I remembered. .... oh yeah. We ain’t going anywhere Sunday. Woopsie plops.

and my wife is a vegan.

so it’s me with 1.5 butts worth of pulled pork.

but you are right - I have a vacuum sealer and it does freeze well so I’ll probably get a bunch of servings frozen up.

I asked my wife to grab some ribs for today and she came home with a 10.5# pork butt

Bone in at least. Still the biggest cut of meat I’ve cooked (besides a turkey).

Should have gone with the 26” kettle!

That thing's a f@#!$& monster. Mine were both closer to 5 lbs I think - both picnics bone in, can only get so much :notsure: but they worked out.

This is the dilemma I have. I want to do a big azz smoker, I would fill a big azz smoker, and then have to freeze 95% of a cook because it would be just me ....
