Interesting. Right before the news of rhe tax plan to increase capital gains tax, I bought a decent amount of Fidelity mutual funds. Why Fidelity? They seem pretty comparable to the other top performers and zero trade fees or commissions. In the past and present, I have held some Vanguard ETFs. However, I decided to put some money into mutual funds to be a little more diverse and have the earnings auto reinvest as opposed to having dividends sitting in my core account.

With the news of the tax hike, I'm wondering if I should move that money into ETFs or maybe into Vanguard mutual funds. Or maybe I don't make enough money for it to matter....I wasn't real clear on if that tax hike on capital gains was across the board or if it only applied to the ultra wealthy.

 

• You can reinvest ETF Dividends, you have to select the reinvest dividends in your account.
• ETF’s are just as diverse or selective as mutual funds. It depends on what you buy.
• Tax hike is still being discussed. How much, for whom, for what and is it retroactive all up in the air.

That’s a big hit? Man hockey has gotten soft since I stopped watching

 

I both love and hate playoff hockey. The Preds have been playing very physical the last 2 games but the refs only blow the whistle one way. In 2 games the Preds have had 14 power plays. The canes, only 6. Last night the game went double OT. In regulation there were 9 penalties called. In OT they went 32min before a whistle was blown. I get the let it play mentality and not letting the refs decide the game like that but it’s gotta go both ways

Hockey is trying to cut down on losing players to head trauma...It's a focus of the player's safety committee...

My decreased $GTii holdings have me capable of relaxing as it cycles....I had too much in it before and I've been hemorrhaging value in my investments...Now I can watch my remainder go to zero without crying...

 

BTW anyone who played the Battlefield Series of games would watch "The Longest Day" and be like "Hmm...that looks a lot like the maps in game..."
