It’s six bolts for the wheel, and three bolts on top of the coil over and one below. If you have a floor jack and jack stands you can do this yourself.

Tried today on passenger side. Removed top bolt and lca lower bolts. Removed spring and original shock and top mount. Installed new top mount but couldn’t get the shock to align into the top mount hole. Tried for too long and put it back to original.

It does have to be indexed correctly. If it doesn't fit, rotate it 120° or 1/3 of the way around and line up the bolts again.

I've also found that if the shock is slightly longer than stock, ie You're going for a little bit of a lift, you might need a buddy to get a pry bar on that LCA and push it down just a tad In order to squeeze the shock and coil in.

Heaps of folks here with experience doing this at home, reach out here for help, you’ll be surprised how tight of a community the St. Louis thread is.

I’ve never fished there but drive through once. Looks like a great place to fish.

What do people think of undercarriage coatings? Paint or the tar stuff, etc?

And if I'm feeling lazy, know of any shops around STL (or anywhere within a couple hour drive) who would do a good job prepping and spraying? It needs some wire brush and pneumatic scaler work in some areas.

My truck had some sort of matte black paint/coating on it, about 6 years ago. That's starting to peel and the leaf springs and a few other places are starting to rust.

One of the things stopping me from doing it myself is my bumpers, front (bull bar) and rear, and all of their mounting and all the other exposed metal, were all painted at the same time by the place who built the rig.. Looks good.. all matching matte black from front bumper, under the entire truck, to the rear bumper. I'll pay someone to do a good job like that again.
Otherwise... I'll just spray it or brush por-15 or something underneath, myself.
