Still think TITNC3: Return of the Iceberg was peak

Our little weiner dog -- even today, when it was 50 degrees out and wind blowing constant 20mph made sure we saw every pile of coyote shit and every lizard hole within a hundred yards. He's not the old 40lb german Dachshund that would go pull badgers out of a hole, but holy shit the nose on those dogs are something else.

Years and years ago when he was a young adult, I took him to a couple of nose game trials. They hide a ferret through an obstacle course, and the dog is timed in how quick he finds it. No challenge for our dog. He'd take a sniff, run the maze, and start screaming bloody murder at the poor ferret in the cage.

 

Yep. It was the perfect combo of dogs. We took my shorthair, Spirit, for any and all upland hunting. We took my buddies labs for duck season.

Teriyaki tri-tip at my house if anybody's hungry. Smoked over hickory to 110 degrees then rested for 10 minutes and seared at 500 degrees until 135. rested to 140 then sliced.

This place claims the best BBQ outside of Texas. And it's gud.

 

2 year old German shepherd, best dog I’ve ever had. Hope he lives a long healthy hip problem free life.

Least your dog is pollinating flowers. All mine does is shit on my lawn and shake when he gets too cold.

 

Every place in Texas and out of Texas claims the best BBQ. I've eaten at a lot of them across the country. From Coppell to Odessa to Galviston to Houston to St. Louis. Kansas City, both Kansas and Missouri. Memphis, N'awlins, and the places in Mississippi you can't find on a map without zooming wayyyyy in.

Best BBQ I've ever had has consistently been at my house with some friends and a cooler full of beer on a summer evening.

When we all get rich, we'll have a BBQ. It won't be as good as the best place you've ever had BBQ, but it'll be better because you'll be popping tops and eating grilled meat with your friends.
