Does anyone know which wire is the positive and which is the negative? It looks like the harness from the vehicle side has a white and red wire. I want to assume that red is always positive so that makes the white negative. On the speaker side, the wire is red and red/black. I assume that the red is positive and the red/black is negative. That would mean that I connect red to red and white to red/black...??

What I have done in the past is take the old speaker and with a small battery like an A or AA and connect it to the speakers terminals. What your looking for is the speakers cone movement, if the cone moves out/away from the magnet then you have it hooked up correctly. Match whichever terminal on the speaker was positive with the factory plug. This may be totally wrong but learned this from an old stereo guy decades ago and has always worked for me.

Just got done with this. The red wire from the factory harness is positive and the white is negative just for future reference.
