Wow. It looks good! Painting bezels (for someone who has never done it before) is not for the faint of heart .

It’s not perfect - definitely imperfections but really not that bad tbqh. And it really does look good in the truck (better than that damn grey, that’s for sure).

And this was more expensive to do than I thought it would be - both in that I used higher quality painting supplies and had to get a sander/polisher (to do it right).

At some point in the future (far in the future), I’ll probably yank it all off - sand down the clear coat, re-apply another base coat, re-apply clear coat and then do the whole sanding, cutting and polishing again. But for now - very pleased with the results.

(And the newly installed DMM from @FreshMexicanTaco ’s taco garage as well!)

 

It’s weird how the Canadian trucks didn’t come with the side graphics. My LR on has the black hood scoop decal.

 

Those are optional. My truck doesn’t have them. I removed the hood vinyl too.

 

Out of curiosity I pinged Vroom for an appraisal.

Apparently my 3600 mile manual LR Pro is worth, get this...

Forty Nine Thousand Dollars.

This is insane.

 

Carvana and Carmax wouldn’t give me a price, says they have to see it.

 

the guy that did mine knew his stuff very well. I told him I wanted it darker than the back glass tint but wanted it to match. He told me he did 10% up front and a lighter tint on the back sides and rear window to blend it all.

I’m looking to go the other direction. I’m debating 35% up front. I don’t need to be hassled by the PoPo!

 

The top secret pro tip.... If you can get your tint guy to do it.... have them put a light tint on your windshield. A) it's amazing, but B) you can run legal tint on the side windows and it'll look a lot darker. And the PoPo 5.0's never think to check the windshield.

How do they even tint the front in one piece. They used to use strips on the back windows of cars in the past. Dont know if they still do.

Unfortunately in California the limit for driver and passenger windows is 70 vlt.

No matter what I put on it’s going to be illegal!
