I have several very good friends of 35 plus yrs that are better family than my own.....

 

Sorry to hear about this, Shane. I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago with my mom. She decided that I had to do all the work in the relationship, and relationships don't work that way. A bunch of other things happened that I won't get into. Haven't talked to her since. She was just up here from Missouri to see my newborn niece. She was 15 minutes away and didn't even ask to see the rest of her grandkids, my two kids. I don't even know if I could have physical stood her being in my house.

 

All but one Aunt out of 4 is still alive and I don't talk to her because she treats my Mom who does not (talk to her) her sister horrible because of something that happened when they were 15 or 16 yrs old....

 

Shane, sorry to hear that but things happen for a reason and I am a stronger person and believer in that, one of the reasons I pay stuff forward to others when I can.....

 

Sorry to hear this. I was once told that just because someone is a family member doesn’t mean they are good for you. I had to cut ties with my real dad. He got sick and was terminal. I showed up to help. I’m glad I did for myself more than anything. You did what you could❤️

All relationships require maintenance. If both parties don’t show up and do their fair share, shit falls apart. One side can’t do all of the work and expect it to be enough to be successful. You know how I feel about your mom situation ❤️

Sorry to hear this Dean. Sounds kinda like us too. My parents and I don’t really talk and we’ve been to their house once in 5 years for my nieces graduation. They live 3 miles away. It’s comes down to one thing for us, respect. They don’t respect our rules and we don’t bend them for anybody is the simple way to put it.

 

Watching people work takes a lot out of a feller.

 

I used to be the drunken brother, December will be 10 years of sobriety for me. Told my wife when she got pregnant with our son if he grows up to be an alcoholic he wasn’t learning it from his dad like I did from mine.

 

Especially when you have to feed them too, oh wait, I let him and Sadie feed themselves yesterday. My wife was gone and I wanted to get done

They had all kinds of good stuff

LAH (Linda's Asshole Husband) is dead to me. He's a thief, and I caught him, twice. 2 strikes and yer out.

 

On a lighter note, mornin' folks.

 

I was not that close to my Dad for many years as he choose to leave when I was like 5 yrs old and waited 40 yrs to make an attempt to be in my life I let him back in but at very cautious steps. When he too got sick I was there for him to help cover his health issues and covered all his death expenses since he was on a limited income. It was fortunate that we became a lot closer before his passing so do what you can to love and make things right and put things behind you for the right person.

 

Just make sure you keep teaching that God,Love,Family and respect are a huge part on the Family relationship your children will benefit HUGE from those lessons in life along with putting siding up on the store .....
