tbh ive never been super big into civics i like certain years and thats about it but i like a lot of jdm and European and Italian cars

lol i didnt have an intention of buying the si when i was looking for a car back in 2019 i went to the honda dealer to look at a orange frs auto and i liked it but it was rather slow and just not what i had expected sadly... so mom said hey why not drive a civic while you are here? sure why not i drove a sport model cvt and it felt faster then the frs so i was like hey this aint bad then i walked in and saw a white coupe on the show room floor and was like woah whats that? oh thats a si coupe you want to test drive it? ya that would be great! (they didnt have a coupe back then that one was sold so i drove a sedan) i ended up really liking it and asked to order a coupe and while i waited for it (i asked for certain colors that were hard to get so it took awhile and sadly couldnt get any so i got white) i drove a gti and a mx5 i really liked the mx5 but i couldnt see it being a good daily tbh and i liked the gti for it being a hatch back but i had seen the issues with the 6 speed and i didnt want to bother with it... i drove the new gt86 manual and it was still rather gutless and boring to me compared to the mx5 or the civic si. i ended up ordering a mx5 as well and after being told they couldnt get a rf plus the cost was higher then i wanted to pay... i ended up going with the white coupe that honda got for me

 

and for the 98 i wanted something cheap and easy to work on for a track toy project so i was looking at mazdas, hondas, acura, nissan but the price of a na or nb miata is stupid now days. and finding a not destroyed nissan for less then 4k is hard af so i started looking at hondas and acuras and just happened to find that one

 

That's quite an adventure. The key to the GT86 is keeping those RPMs way higher than you feel as safe. The damn things will scoot though on back roads. But not so much on the wide open highways.

As far as track toys go, I've seen a lot of C5 and C6 Corvettes out over the past year especially at drift events and even at import face off which is really weird but hey, those cats do what they want

 

ya and the sales dude wouldnt really let me do that but overall the 86 is a slow car and is slower then all the other coupe options out there atm and so i didnt bother with it and its worked out really well tbh ive meet a lot of cool people in the civic side of things and i really do enjoy the car for what it is

and ya ive seen a lot of the c5s show up but it was more then i wanted to spend plus i wanted a simple and easy import im not a huge fan of domestic vehicles tbh

 

No doubt civics are a blast. I had a 96 VTec accord that was a veritable rocket back in the day. Even had leather. And a factory sunroof that didn't leak

 

yup they are good cheap fun thats what i like about the 98 even thou it has some problems i got to find out last night sadly... but i expected that lol

now thats wild lol

He's leaving tomorrow morning for a camping trip with the boys tomorrow morning as well, but if I remember correctly, there was some cell service on White Rock mountain, so I'm sure he will pop in here and there.

 

No. IIRC there was next to zero signal. We'll see. I mostly TW at work so when Im not in the plant twiddling my thumbs I dont get on much.

 

He has service; he's just having too much fun I guess, lol
