One thing to do is watch prices on Tractor House and make sure you know what is in the ballpark if you go bid. It's a really good site if you haven't used it. You can search in many different ways:

    https://tinyurl.com/yeyr3nkk

You can search nationwide, by State, by Brand/HP, etc. You can really get specific on what you are looking for and see only those that fit the request.

Man, 54HP and FWA, that thing will be a brute. You need some front forks, a backhoe attachment, a PTO tiller, a box scraper, a bush hog, a finish mower,a PTO generator, a jib crane, ...

just like a Tacoma or Tundra, the list of mods is endless: :spending:

Seriously though, that is an awesome machine. You guys are lucky to have it.

Changed my mind on waiting until Fall.

Started to work on the frame repair today. The bad news: of the 4 main bed bolts, LH front weld nut broke loose, RH front came out okay, RH rear weld nut broke loose, LH rear didn't break weld nut loose or break the bolt head off, yet. Even though this truck is relatively rust free underneath, including the frame, many of the bolts are rusty. I stopped for the day.

I think I'll pull the bumper to get at the two rear most bolts.

Good news though is pulled the bed cover and the plastic bedliner, thinking I may need to use a hole saw to get to the broken loose weld nuts holding the bed bolts in place. Looked great for a Midwestern truck. One little area of rust. I hope I can get the bolts out w/o cutting holes into this pristine bed!

Yeah, if it weren't for that LH front one breaking the weld nut loose, I'd be fine. Not only is it tight to work there, it's so near the gas tank that I hesitate to roll out the plasma or oxy/acet.

The other thing is that bed is in such nice shape, if other methods fail, it's gonna hurt me to take the hole saw to it for access. I do think I can limit that to just that LH front one though, so, there's that anyway. The other locations, I think I can hole saw through the cross member and get a wrench in there on the nuts. Then, the heads will likely break off, which is fine.

That's probably what I'll do to re-attach: cut a hole in each cross where I can hold a top nut and tighten from the bottom. Definitely make future removals easier.

I don’t remember how easy it is to reach the weld but, but an trick that worked when the rear bolts would break was to have a second person put a ton of weight on the nut while you impact the bolt out after using the inductive heater, usually they’d come out then.

been 5 years since the last first gen frame swap at work.

Took a plasma cutter, 3/4 drive air impact, 3/4 drive ratchet, right angle pneumatic drill w/hole saw, pry bar, vise grips, various hand tools, and 4 hrs work.

In addition to the frame repair, muffler, fuel pump, fluid film, etc are on the agenda. I'm gonna post pics of the hole saw hack on "What Have You..." because it worked out well.

The frame is pretty sweet. Both x-members are solid and fuel tank and straps are good.

What kind of bumper cut did you do here? I’m assuming to prevent some major rubbing? Those the -38 offset version of the Ray10? Have any additional pics? My current SCS wheels are -10 but am ready for a change and been thinking about the -38 this time around.

You have any luck with this yet? I have been wondering the same thing. Closest person I have found is in the middle of Kentucky.

I seen your truck a few times, I believe you even parked by me once. Nice looking rig.
