Ford or S&P 500 index fund for 1-2 year hold? I have ~$1500 in a playing around account and adding to it monthly. The new F150 EV and other EV’s (Mustang, commercial EV delivery van) in their lineup look promising. What do you think the “OMG it’s EV” lemmings other than Tesla fan bois going to do with this stock? I don’t day trade this will be a hold for a while at least and not interested in any other stocks. I think Fords gonna keep going up ahead of the market next couple years, what say you? I’ll look at Toyota when they get off their late asses and put out a Taco hybrid which makes more sense than a straight up EV at this point in time.

 

Short hold you want a shot a big returns. So pick a stock not a fund. IMO

 

Patiently waiting for futures to open in 90 minutes. We all just watched crypto take an epic dive. That means a lot of risk money is now liquid. It's my belief that some of that money will be placed back into tech until crypto starts rising. Even if a tiny, tiny bit of it makes it to NVDA I'll be stoked.

 

My crypto looks a lot better than 4 hours ago. Still not attractive, but better

Their dividend is still suspended. They are on a bit of an up right now, might come down a bit in the next week or so. But the day they announce dividend reinstatement it'll be a +10-15% jump in cost, in my opinion. On that day, I'm bailing my current $F holdings and moving them into an SP500 fund/VTI (I am partial to VTI but SPLG is my other I tend toward, SPY has a higher ER than SPLG).

If it was between F and SPY, right now, I'd be in F until that pays off then move to SPY/other SP500/total market fund.

 

I hold both F and GMC. If forced to pick one, GMC. Sidebar, Volkswagen is going to be a major EV player.

 

I woke up a little late this morning at about 10. I checked my phone and notifications went:

I should have taken a screen shot but was too busy running to my comp to see how bad I just got pounded. lol

 

Looks about right. Hasn’t even been a week since I was pleased to get LINK at a dip to $36, then I avg down under 30, then under 25, now I’m close to 20. Hasn’t been a cheap 6 days to do it though

 

Anyone have a crypto platform that allows stop losses/trailing stop losses to be set? I can't do that in Blockfi.

 

You can set a stop-limit on Gemini but not a trailing stop. You can't set trails on any cypto platform that I've seen.

 

Anyone that has Voyager on iOS able to get in? I’m still having issues.

Although ford generally isn't even close to high risk, they kinda are very risky right now with how drastically they are changing their vehicle lineup and company outlook. Where you'll get caught is it's not high risk high reward here, more like high risk maybe 50% gains at most for a little while. Given that and your goals to stay short term there's quite a few stocks at a similar risk level with more equal reward potential

 

new cars got really expensive in the last couple years (prob blame the tariffs).
at the start of covid, mass transit shut down. plus people were like "hmm, mass transit in a pandemic...yea, i'll drive."
so used cars were cheaper, until you had this huge influx of demand, then they got really expensive cause everyone wanted a covid car.

not quite the same as a covid puppy

 

Hey guys, I got to go fishing twice today!

We took my kids and the neighbors kids down to the swimming beach. The fish there are crazy because people feed them constantly. The kids were non-stop catching fish. I spent more time taking off fish than I did anything else. Then my wife took them down to the beach to play for a little bit and I got to do some solo fishing. Got a few good ones on my new ultra light rod. Then around 4, the kids asked if we could go to the beach again to swim... who am I to say no to that! So we went back, the kids swam and I got to fish some more!.

I have a feeling this week is going to be good!
