There’s something in my rear lift that makes a loud squeaking noise whenever I go over any sudden bump and I want to know how to fix that. I have a Toytec shock in the rear and at least a leaf block, possibly aal (rear lift came with the truck) Any suggestions besides WD40?

Likely leaf-spring silencer pads. WD-40 would quiet it down for awhile but will actually make the issue worse long term as it attracts dirt. Lift the truck up by the frame to fully extend the leaf packs and then hose off the pads to remove any grit they have collected.

Bro you should read my post!!! This solved it after a year of trying different things. DONT use WD40. Just spend a couple of bucks for these and 20 mins of easy work. 29B05DE6-8F86-4802-98D9-7C12C59D5262.jpg

Just cut off the nipples or drill holes in the springs for the nipples. I don’t think they’ll come out. That’s ALOT of pressure to hold them in place. I have posted vids of that awe full squeak. It’s completely gone now!

These work. You gotta replace them every couple years, but yeah....no squeaks.

Check that it isn't your spare tire. Sometimes that little piece that fits in the hub of your rim gets squeaky.

ugh... really? I mean that’s fine but it still a pain in the ass that you shouldn’t half to deal with at all.. let alone every couple of years. Especially with a new truck. I’ve had a 73’ sr5 Toyota truck. A 91’ Chevy s10, a 95’ Chevy Silverado .. even a 1968gmc custom camper special and none of them squeak like a fat mouse. SMH.

On the vehicles mentioned, was the suspension modified? Or is this an issue with stock Tacoma suspension?

Agreed. It’s a little annoying. I’ve put up with the squeaking for the past year though so I can definitely prolong the time between changes

Mine is modified but not too heavily. I believe I have the stock springs, just with added block and shock

How many miles on the truck before the squeaking started? How long after modifications?

Bought the truck used with 50k. This rear lift was already on. I’d say they started squeaking about 60k if I remember correctly

Good to know. No way to know what it went through before you got it.

I didn’t have to drill mine. My OEM spring have the holes. I do have an add—a-leaf, and travel rough roads, so I think that wears down the plastic pucks faster.

My stock leafs squeak like crazy. Started after the very first time I took my truck off-road. Doesn’t really bother me though.

This was never an issue on my previous trucks.

So it seems to be use related. Off road, lots of flex, and possible dust. Where as normal road travel seems to be fine. That’s good for me, I have a CJ for off road.
