    Chief Dark Horse (Alumina Jade).

I've ridden Dual Sports mostly for the last 15 years. This'll be my first cruiser. I've always wanted to try one to be more planted in the wind around here but none ever spoke to me. This one finally ticked the marks for me ha. So I'll let you know how it rides in a month or so.

That's a great looking color. Can't wait to hear how you like it. My dealer is getting demo bikes next weekend, so I'm going to try to get by and ride one to see how I like it.

I was looking at the FTR Carbon to add to the stable......can't test drive one here in Hawaii, so I have to go off reviews...my current KTM 500exc supermoto and 1997 Harley might have some company

have you ridden the new 2022 model? I know first model year was a lil hit or miss...seems they figured out the tweaks for the new model? @truckdoggirl

Lowered seat height is nice, smaller wheels and tweaked geometry and more nimble, but you do feel the bumps in the road a bit more as well. Not horrible, just noticable. Way more tire options now, though. And they still have the Rally model if you basically want the exact same old one with a few updates (and the best looking in my opinion ha).

I don't ride one yet, but I'm looking to acquire one by the end of the year. Had my eye on the Indian scout bobber for a while, but then the FTR came out as a strong contender.

just gonna follow this thread to see your guys' beautiful rides.

    Let’s keep this thread rolling!

Anyone on here own a Challenger or FTR?

Mean bikes, man. Future of the American market in my opinion.

Just finished the hundred something mile ride home. Love the bike, absolutely hate South Dakota wind haha. Suspension was great on interstate bridges and cracks, seat was comfy for the first few minutes haha (waiting patiently on aftermarket seats, this one is no bueno for long miles), passes like a dream, even in Touring mode, let alone standard or sport. Going to throw the pillion seat on now and take the wife out for the evening. I’ll keep whoever posted who has questions.

Last post for a while. Don't want to hijack the thread haha. There have to be some other Indian Motocycle owners in here.

Anyone have the new FTR? :D

It's an Indian thread. You can't hijack it with posts about an Indian. Keep us updated. I really want to know how you like it long term. Once the new is worn off, what seat you end up getting, how the motor breaks in, etc. If I do get another bike, this is what I will be getting.

So far it’s perfection around town and short trips. The downsides are comfort and fuel range for longer jaunts. Definitely not lacking power or pull, in any mode, let alone Sport. Sport is too much for me for commuting, honestly ha. I thought I’d leave it in normal mode and never touch touring but the other day my wife and I were cruising around the lake near our town and the throttle was a little twitchy at the speed we needed to hold and I actually found the less touchy throttle of the touring mode to be perfect for leisurely strolling. It about throws both of us off the bike at half throttle in Normal mode ha.

Feels just as light as the Scout, much lighter than any other cruiser I’ve ridden and even lighter than most “adventure” bikes I’ve ridden since the weight is so low. The frame is a work of art, fit and finish are perfectly fine for me, although a lot of chrome bolts and a few bits of the swing arm and some of the plastic may be addressed in the future. I need to get more miles on it but I can already tell about 300 and some miles in that it’s perfect for my shorter rides around town and back highways but I’m already dreading a 200 miles trip on the interstate coming up. Just not comfortable at 80mph and filling up every 140 miles isn’t fun either.

Here’s a few I snapped quick today while getting groceries with the wife:

    gorgeous bike.

i'm currently looking at the FTR vs a Yamaha XSR700...the FTR is a decent chunk more expensive but man is it a beautiful bike.

That is a difficult decision. I'd love to own both. Pros and cons list always helps but obviously riding each as much as possible will tell you a lot more!

Good luck! I'd love a maroon FTR S next to the Chief!

So I rode a MT09 and an FTR last week. The FTR smoked the MT09. Could have been riders but we switched around and the FTR always won.

That said, hated having my feet behind me. I no longer want an FTR haha tooooo much speed for my personal needs.

In other news, hit 1,000 on the Chief. Have a 300 or so mile trip ahead this weekend.

Also rode a couple of HD Low Rider S models and a Honda Rebel 1100. The long version is in the motorcycle BS thread but I wouldn’t even consider buying either after the comparison to say the least! :)
